Posted - 05/04/2002 : 07:20:45 AM Well I think we had our best audience so far on this tour. Everyone stuck around and really dug it and I don't think I heard 1 scream for acoustic. The audience was really into it. They yelled but it was all courteous and supportive. Kudos SEATTLE!! We did have one nut jump on stage but the security at Graceland handled it quickly and efficiently and we got TR's gasmask back. We even had a great turnout, 300+! WHOOHOO!!! Everyone will be happy to know that the show was recorded by the house soundman and he played the recording for us as we loaded out and it sounded great. Hopefully a copy will be waiting for me on our return to Washington. Once again, THANX Seattle! Tomorrow Eugene OR and the Aladdin Theater, the site of my biggest Chris Whitley tour horror story. Hopefully they will not hold it against me!! Afterall, TR doesn't drink. Caio for now! |

Posted - 08/23/2002 : 5:04:39 PM Hey Kevin, I do not think I have recieved it yet. I will have to look into that. Maybe on the break between legs of the upcoming tours.
"break between legs", that comment could definitely be misconstrued.

Posted - 05/06/2002 : 08:37:56 AM That would be the "State of Confusion"!! HEHE
I forgot to tell a funny story about the Seattle show. The early show ended up being a band called the Dwarves. They were loading out when we arrived and by this TIMe they were pretty drunk being the good punk band they are, true to form. Well anyway, they got their stuff out of the way and we started setting up, as one of the members wearing a kilt and a leather jacket staggered by me and informed me he was doing an idiot check. I wanted to tell him he was the PERFECT guy to do that job, but I let it slide. Then he paused, looked at T'n'T setting up and said, "Looks like something is going on here, and it don't look good!" He shook my hand and walked away. We all had a pretty good laugh about it. HEHE
I am so glad you got to see the show Sarah, and even happier you enjoyed it so much. Hopefully we will get to do it again sometime. I felt horrible about the last minute changes. Glad it worked out, it was great meeting you.
Welcome aBOARD RainCityRock!! Hope ya stick around!!
Hey Zachula, I know I will have a copy of the show from the soundman. I think justchillin recorded as well. I am sure if he did I will get a copy from him as well. I am sure we can work out getting you a copy and you can do some B&Ps for people. Or maybe set up one of those tree things. Contact me after the tour and I am sure we can work something out. Thanx for the help and support.
Indeed the next nite we were in Eugene OR, but we were at Agate Hall. Quite a subdued show after our rip-roaring Seattle show. It was still a great show, just left us all feeling a little ragged. It was a LONG drive right to the venue, soundcheck and show. Hey, that's rock and roll.

Posted - 05/04/2002 : 11:42:59 PM He got confused. He's in Eugene one night and at the Aladdin the next. At least he's got the state right. Not easy when you're on tour!

Posted - 05/04/2002 : 11:39:25 PM Well when you can't afford tickets, you have to resort to *other* means... (wink wink)
Fluffy: Eugene?!?! The Aladdin is in Portland, just to remind ya =D I wouldn't want you all to drive an extra three hours and then realize you were at the wrong place.

That show was awesome! Tim is a crazy dude. Fluffy, will this recording you speak of eventaually be available on the FTP site? Hopefully? I was able to do a B&P for the last Seattle Shows but I didn't see anyone recording there last night. If anyone did record it please let me know, I would really like a copy.
I think the monkeys at the zoo should have to wear sunglasses so they can't hypnotize you. |

Posted - 05/04/2002 : 4:08:14 PM Last night at Graceland was my first chance to experience Tim live. It was awesome! I think the crowd was pretty cool, very into the music. I'm looking forward to Tim's next Seattle stop.
Ooga Booga! Stick that in your pipe and smoke it! |

Posted - 05/04/2002 : 3:15:07 PM WOW! indeed. I'd say about 90% of the music I listen to is acoustic driven. I was totally blown away by Tim's last acoustic tour. Saying that, I enjoyed last night's show atleast twice as much as his acoustic show. He's taking these shows to some really fun and adventurous places, while highlighting what an amazing musician he is. Don't miss it! Peace all....Mel

Posted - 05/04/2002 : 11:06:07 AM Hopefully all the rest of the shows will have as appreciative audiences as that one. Maybe just a little quieter. At least they were into it, hard to complain when everyone is excited and digging it and that is why they are yelling. Afterall, it is not an acoustic show.
