I don't know how I missed it, but Dave and Tim are playing at the DAR Hall in DC this May. Of course it's sold out, but if anyone hears anything about extra tickets, let me know and I'll pay top dollar to obtain them.

Okay, I just have to say it ~ once you've been in the front row ~ its REALLY difficult to be satisfied with not being in the front row. As for spending Boo Cooo bucks on concert tickets ~ I spent 350 on a 9th row seat at Farm Aid in Sept 08 and it was awesome but I'm still in debt over that ~ the flight/hotel/rent-a-car etc.. It was a great show, but I'm starting to see the value of my hard earned cash and the 2 front row seats I had were for Leo Kottke for like 50 bucks a pop ~ I bought them months ahead of time and it was great. It's been said before, it just encourages greedy mofo's in their greed and makes it hard for the true fan who really really loves the artist's music to get a reasonably priced ticket. I think the bottom line is planning ~ plan it ahead of time and then it's not an issue..

I thought of all of you who posted in this thread today. For a lark I went on to see what kind of tickets I could get to see James Taylor and Carole King's June 22 Philly show (newly added show) I could get two floor seats, in rows 1-8 but would have cost $289. Damn, I wanted them and somehow that didn't seem like alot for what I was getting, but I had will power and clicked off the site. I am on disability now and have no idea when I will be able to work again. Reality bites! If anyone else here wants to know how to get those kind of tickets today, email me. I will tell you how.

well if i spend 1k on tickets, i get to hold it over my girlfriends head forever. Sick? Yes. Twisted? Totally. (hopefully she never reads this...)

on a further note, i totaled my car Thursday so i don't know how much of a possibility this is.

ebay is the devil lol.

i'd pay 500 a ticket to be front row at a couple shows of the top of my head, Blink 182 for sure.. kidding.

Ben, I must have had someone looking out for me when I saw Peter Gabriel. I got row 2 tickets for less than $100 each and that was when he last toured US. Person next to me spent mega bucks. It was the best show I have ever been to and yes, being 2nd row (no one showed up for seats in front of us which made it even better), had a lot to do with it, but still, I wouldn't even pay a lot to see him again. (and you know how I LOVE PG!)By the way, PG concerts are no longer sell out shows, there are always seats available when he tours.

The show I would like to see now is Carole King and James Taylor, but yes, I am from a differnt generation and the memories of them, especially JT, are sweet. But, I am not going to see them because of the price issue.

I guess a big difference is that you guys are young, have your whole lives to repay your debts. I am old, raised two kids with college bills, weddings, etc and I hate carrying debt.

I really hate the way people take advantage of buying and selling tickets and just once, I would love to see some big concert half empty because people refused to buy the over priced seats. Of course that will never happen. It would just be so great to think of all the greedy bastards who bought up the tickets just to make a profit get stuck with them.

Thankfully for us, paper has no value. Spends your fiot cash on whatever tickles your fancy.

(But damn, that IS a lot!)

I'm sorry, but if you are, you should see a psychiatrist! NO MUSICIAN IS WORTH PAYING MORE THAN ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS A TICKET!(Ok, "maybe" $120, but damn they better be good!)

My one argument against this Pam, Peter Gabriel. Simply because he tours sporadically and he means so much to me. I'd be willing to try to pay around 150 a ticket for D&T, but I'd spend a few hundred dollars trying to get as close to the stage as possible for PG.

I'm not PLANNING to have an extra, but if my buddy backs out, I will. I'll let you know.

Joe, if it's worth it to you, drop it. I paid 500 bucks for a pair of tickets to Radiohead so my love and I could finally see them together (I'd see em 5 times, but she'd never been) and that show will always be worth more than a few days worth of work. Value is highly subjective.

People are pieces of shit and should not take advantage of other concert goers, but that is life, unfortunately.

I was lucky to see Tim & Dave at Radio City Music Hall and they were awesome, but seriously, NO WAY would I spend mega bucks to see any musician! $500 per ticket is ridiculous and you are only adding to the problem of high ticket prices. T & D are good, but not $500 a ticket good. Think of all the music you could buy, all the shows you could see, like TR3, for that amount of money!

If you are going to pay that amnount, you are either crazy or have more money than you know what to do with. If the latter is the case, Kudo's to you!

It's looking like i'm gonna try to get this as a gift for me and my loved one. There was a thing on ebay for Orch "O" 3 seats together :P 2.4k though ouch. I'm still gonna cough up, up to 1k for 2 tickets on the floor, hopefully within a-o. If anyone konws anyone, hollllaar

Yeah, I didn't know the show was happening until it sold out either. However, I did notice yesterday that Leo Kottke is playing the Birchmere in Alexandria in June so I went ahead and bought a ticket to that one.

That'd be awesome! It's about time I get to start meeting you East Coast TR TaskForce Members.
