Posted - 09/11/2006 : 10:47:00 PM So I know TR seems very happy with what he does now (at least to my knowledge) and I for one really enjoy the solo acoustic and electric stuff as well as TR3 stuff I've heard. However I often wonder if TR has more plans for the future about collaborations with other artists besides the usual D&T and such. I know with other artist like say Bela Fleck there is constant collaborations with many musicians over his career. I'm not saying I expect it from Tim or he should but I often wonder where he would go musically. I know he could fit in with a lot of stylistic things as well as groups that tend to fuse many styles and it seems he'd have a lot to offer. Especially with composing for a group and seeing how he would orchesrate for a group. Just looking at what he can do with some electronics and his guitars is amazing, but I often think he'd be a bad mofo with some other equally amazing talents.
I for one love the sticks and stones stuff and feel like Tim could really shine in a group where communication was stressed as a concept rather than merely playing tunes such as DMB or whatever. Maybe Fluffy will have some insight, but I was just wondering if Tim had any ideas of moving in a new direction like this or another (not that he isn't changing now). |
