we should begin a revolution. bombard the net with requests to have timmy r and dave m reunite for the a tour of sold out shows across the nation! i can only say that after hearing tim and dave at luther college, the dmb has no place in my cd changer! the sound i so pure with the two guitars and one voice.anyone else feel the same?

In the meanTIMe, there are plenty of audio AND video recordings of TR solo performances out there. Alot of the folks here can direct you to particularly good ones and where to download and acquire them on your computer. Hope to one day see you on TouR with TR in Brazil.

First of all, this is my first post here. Second, I don't speak english very well . I just want to say that thanks to DMB, Dave Matthews, and the acoustic tours, I had the oportunity to hear this amazing guitar player (TR). So if an Acoustic tour of Tim and Dave is coming I'll love it. But now the compositions of TR is one of the things that I hear the most nowdays. The only thing that makes me sad is that I live in Brazil and maybe I'll never see T.R playing live without or with Dave.

who's dave?
sciphish Posted - 08/11/2006 : 05:04:10 AM
I wish I could go, but Im poor at the moment. However, my friend is going. He's not a big fan, but he digs Tim's music.

Yes it's quite true that I miss the cheese state. I mean, can you believe that cheddar is white out here. Im not for the taste either.

i could say i don't want dave and tim to tour again, but that would just be a bold faced lie.

You still have time to get a flight ticket out to Madison. I could scrounge up a ticket for you for the barrymore, I am buying mine on friday with my paycheck.

And if not, I'll make sure you get the first copy of the video I am going to tape :) .

P.S. Even when I get my dream house (a lighthouse on the shores of scotland, and turn the top of the lighthouse into a studio) I will miss the good old cheese state.

Yeah I'd like to see them again, wouldn't we all. But I'm stilling waiting to be in the same city as Tim and knowing I'll be seeing his show.

I used to live in Wisconsin, and NOW he's coming to that state. However now I've moved and he has yet to announce coming to Boston!

Dave's great. But like I've heard on the board, sooner or later you realize Tim just makes Dave sound good. (<--- it's true, it's true!!)

HOOOORAY FOR MUSIC!!
Ranting Thespian Posted - 08/08/2006 : 02:32:22 AM
I have to say, I was walking through Best Buy years ago, and I spotted what I thought was a new dmb cd. It said Dave Matthews on it, and not knowing much about dmb or Dave at all. Just having Crash, my Mom having Under the Table and Dreaming, and just got Before These Crowded Streets I only thought Dave, Carter, Stefan, LeRoi, and Boyd were on all of them with help of John Popper on UTTAD. So, I see the name Reynolds on there, and the tin foil reynolds wrap thing went into my head. I then saw live at some college, so I thought it was Reynolds college or something.

So, I put it in, and I didn't understand what I was hearing. Only 2 guitars? I reconize Dave's voice, but had no clue who or what that other guitar player was.

I look at myself back then and think how foolish of me! lol! Now, I have seen Tim live solo, have live shows on mpeg and audio, a bunch of cds, and it all started out because of that tin foil college cd!

Plus, with my Mom getting ME into dmb, I have gotten her into Tim! She went to the show with me in 2001, and said to Tim that he reminds her of Little Steven. (tim said he was honored, and I feel stupid, because I had to ask my Mom afterwards who Little Steven is . . . now I listen to his radio show all the time! . . . little steven's underground garage . . . )

Thanx everyone for the more civilized responses in this thread. This was definitely NOT a plant, but I think it couldn't have been more perfectly TIMed. As I have always said, there is NO reason that a TR fan can't also be a T&D fan and desire to see them perform together once again. It is no reason to persecute them for being less the TR fan than ourselves. I think for most here seeing and hearing TR perform with Dave is what drew you all in in the beginning so it is always possible that some of the T&D fans will start to understand TR better with more exposure to him. THANX for lightening up a bit and we will see if it translates into more interest and understanding of TR as a solo performer. Keep in mind, not ALL of the folks who make posts like this will definitely become fans but even if only a handful of them do then it is great for TR in the long run. After all, isn't the real reason we are here is share our interest and love of TR's playing, moreso than ridiculing and feeling superior to others?

Note to b_dub323:

In case you aren't aware of how the whole T&D relationship works there are a plethora of links explaining it in the following thread:

http://www.timreynolds.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=7077

I think all here would also welcome the opportunity to see TR play with Dave again at some point, since most are fans of Dave/DMB as well, but not at the expense of his own career. It's a beautiful world where BOTH can exist. Oh, and just so you know, TR really perfers not be called Timmy.

I will blow a load.

Although I did say once that I WILL see D&T live ONCE before I die, and I did in fact. So that's done, and I can now enjoy whatever else they do. So yeah, bring it.
Ranting Thespian Posted - 08/06/2006 : 01:14:59 AM
dave and tim tour when they tour. They did Dave & Friends, and even opening with a few songs just d&t style. They did a tour before some devil. They tour when they tour. When theyir scheduels let them, and they feel like they should do it, they will do it. Nothing is going to change that. Protests and such won't work. It will just annoy them. Dave is doing his thing now with dmb, and tim is doing his now. When they get together, they will get together.

All I am waiting for is news about the show they video taped in 2004 during the D&T tour. Yes, they had cameras and everything.

But, I'll say it again, they will tour when they tour.
KevinLesko Posted - 08/05/2006 : 6:00:42 PM
Aside from being up in the rafters for a Dave and Friends show at the Staples center, I've never seen a Dave + Tim show together, so YES! I'm certainly ready for one. Also ready for a TR3 tour, although that seems even more unlikely.
