Awesome Mandy! Great review. I only have one problem with it, besides the fact that I couldn't be there, LOL,

(I know I'm a terrible fan. But I'm also relatively new, so stick with me, I'll get it. :) )

Ummm, Mandy, don't EVER think you are a terrible fan of TR's. There is no such thing here.....wait, thats a lie....that sneeker guy who always spams here, he is a terrible fan, but everyone else here is on equal ground. We are NOT a DMB site and in all fairness, I think hard core DMB fans get pretty sick of the "who is a true fan" topics too! If you enjoy his music, you're a fan, plan and simple, new fan, old fan, who really gives a shit, if ya love the music, you're a fan!

Your review was wonderful and very much appreciated by everyone here. I am so glad you got to see and meet TIM and know what an awesome musician and person he is. That to me is the really cool part, that he is an honest to goodness down to earth person. Nothing fake about him, what ya see is who he is. Again, congrats on a great show!

Peace always~

I have to say All Star Guitar Night was amazing!

The evening went so well and to the best of my knowledge TR, Fluffy and Rew thoroughly enjoyed their spread. ;) I had seen some pics of the purple flowers Fluffy had taken, so threw a few in their room for fun. Meeting the guys was such a great experience. They're all so fun and funny.

The show itself was stellar. The first set started with Muriel Anderson. She has won numerous awards for her guitar playing abilities and she's fantastic! Next we brought out Jack Grassl, also great guitar player. Third up was Stanley Jordan. This guy can play! The three of them played together, then brought Greg Koch to the stage. Greg is a funny guy on and off stage. He and the rest of his trio came out to play a few songs. Jon on drums and Tom on bass. They were so great, a little bluesy, little rock and roll. Muriel, Stanley, Jack and Greg and his trio finished out the set rocking together.

Second set was our man TR. It was amazing! I apologize in advance, you'll have to ask Fluffy or Ranting what he played. (I know I'm a terrible fan. But I'm also relatively new, so stick with me, I'll get it. :) )
Tim played for about an hour and then called out all the other artists. The crew played together for one last song and it was amazing! The different styles and sounds all coming together was so much to take in, I can't wait for the dvd to come out so I can hear it again. Also so I can see it from head on. Most of my viewing was from the side of the stage. :)

After the show all the artists went out in the lobby area to sign anything and everything people brought to them. Everyone was so gracious and kind to their fans. Tim stayed out and signed til everyone was done. I would personally like to thank Tim for being so kind and accomodating to all his fans.

Everybody...hate to say it, but if you weren't there you missed one hell of a show!

So glad I was able to have any part in it, and appreciate TR, Fluffy and Rew's amazing efforts!

You guys missed one hell of a night.

2 good things, though:

1- I got Tim's full performance on video
2- Madison Media Institute was also recording it for a DVD that will be put together (both sets, Tim's and the first one . . . I didn't have enough tape for both sets)

I am going to check out the video quality tomorrow and post a review. :)
JTR Posted - 09/17/2006 : 12:02:44 AM
Sadly, I had to miss this. Working 7 days a week with no time off means no TR. BOO!
Saint Jude Posted - 09/16/2006 : 8:57:21 PM
Yea, My boss got fired thrusday (rightly so, he wasnt the best at his job, infact he wasnt 'good' at it.) So he left w/ the tickets.

which means no tim for me. /cry
PJK Posted - 09/16/2006 : 5:37:19 PM
Hey Mandy, Just wanted to say good luck with everything tonight! I know you must be walking on cloud 9! Sure sounds like the whole show should be pretty amazing. If I lived anywhere near there, I would go for sure!

Don't forget to write a review OK? And let us know if they enjoyed the food you set up!
Ranting Thespian Posted - 09/16/2006 : 03:05:20 AM
If anyone is coming tomorrow to the Barrymore, I'll be wearing a Pink Floyd - the Wall *Hammers* hat, playing guitar outside with a friend around mid-day.
gnome44 Posted - 09/14/2006 : 4:32:12 PM
Since we're on the topic of salsa, etc...I was wondering...

A few years ago I remember (I think) stumbling upon Tim's Tour Rider. I can't remember for sure though. If this did exist somewhere on the internet, I'd love to see it again. I guess I'm just curious as to what all the specifics are for Tim's request for backstage stuff.

It looks like there's salsa, chocolate, bananas, and coffee. I'm sure that's not all though.

Any ideas? Fluffy, could you share?
wigrl79 Posted - 09/14/2006 : 4:02:23 PM
PJK - thanks for the input. You're right, I am sweating the small stuff, I really want Tim to enjoy his night here in Madison.

Fluffy, thanks for the info. I'll look forward to meeting you Saturday night.

~Mandy
Fluffy Posted - 09/13/2006 : 03:59:15 AM
Thanx for all the concern about the salsa but to be quite honest Rew and I generally eat the chips and salsa. TR is the chocolate guy. We all share the bananas. And as everyone knows, Rew and TR are the coffee fiends. As for the brand, don't have a specific, but something that comes from the refrigerated section. They generally tend to be more natural. They look more watery than say the Tostitos type brand but they are quite a bit yummier. hehe
Ranting Thespian Posted - 09/13/2006 : 01:30:00 AM
Two things. First, SOMEONE'S GOING????

Second . . . where did the topic of salsa come from?
PJK Posted - 09/11/2006 : 7:20:44 PM
Mandy, I have NO clue as to TR's favorite salsa, but hopefully Fluffy will get on line someTIMe this week before the show and if anyone would know it would be him. If you don't hear from anyone just go with what you like. I always do that when preparing for a "guest." Hey, if he doesn't like it, at least you can enjoy the leftovers! LOL

Seriously, if you don't hear from Fluffy, just go with what you like. Tim is very appreciative and I am sure he will like whatever you serve. Worrying about the right salsa is "sweating the small stuff," and you don't need to do that. I know it means a lot to you that it is all done right, but really, if it gets down to crunch TIMe and you haven't heard anything specific, then trust your judgment.

My feelings on things like that is that if it is that important to the person, they would specify a brand.

Have a great TIMe this weekend Mandy! Relax and enjoy!
Saint Jude Posted - 09/11/2006 : 3:11:10 PM
I just got some free tickets from my store for the show. Will see you guys saturday.
wigrl79 Posted - 09/11/2006 : 09:37:11 AM
Can't wait to see all of you there! I am curious...anyone know Tim's favorite Salsa? That's a for real question. I'm in charge of getting everything ready for him, but there is not a specific brand. I was thinking of getting some non-major label like Mrs. Renfro's (I think that's right).

Suggestions?

Thanks!
Mandy
Ranting Thespian Posted - 09/02/2006 : 9:29:17 PM
Well, I got my friend Mark going, and my Aunt and Uncle are coming too.

I just wish someone from here was going. The Barrymore is my favorite venue I've ever been to. My 1st goal as a musician is to play at the Barrymore . . . second Alpine ;) .
Robin Posted - 09/02/2006 : 3:34:57 PM
Yep, Hugh is the one to contact, and TR rarely has any idea of the tour till Fluffy gets the info, so don't take personally. Peace,Robin

Seriously though, it just happens that way. There was someone you could email regarding potential TR stops. The exact details escape my mind presently.

That would be Blue Mountain Tim's Booking agent Hugh.

http://www.bluemountainartists.com/

If I were going to ask for TIM to come to my area, I would email Hugh at Blue Mountain and give some potential venues with contact information, websites etc. I am not going to say that will make it happen for you, but it is a good route to go. When Fluffy is back on board he might have another suggestion, but I am pretty sure that is how you go about it.

From what I remember him saying about it, he hates all the lakes. I mean, c'mon, 10000 is a bit much, isn't it?

oops, forgot about this thread ;) .

Anyways, anyone going?
Fluffy Posted - 08/08/2006 : 11:40:53 PM
Just wanted to bring this back to the top for Ranting Thespian. I didn't think we needed a second thread about this gig. RT was wondering if anyone from the board was going to be coming out for the gig. I wouldn't miss it if you can make it, sounds like it should be a great nite of music.

I'll be open to make any VHS copies of the tape (if they allow me to record, and I bet they will) for anyone on these boards. :)
Arthen Posted - 06/18/2006 : 01:02:54 AM
Mandy, that all star list is pretty bad ass. You guys had Led Ka'apana, well done!!!

I wish I could be at the show, but we'll expect full reviews.
Ranting Thespian Posted - 06/18/2006 : 12:33:31 AM
The Barrymore is the place I have always wanted to see Tim at. I can't believe it that he is coming to my home town, I am only 15 minutes away from the Barrymore!

I am bringing my camera again, and Fluffy I will give you a copy again (I was the guy at Menonomie who had YOU sign Nomadic Wavelength . . . at perkins lol).
Fluffy Posted - 06/16/2006 : 05:58:54 AM
Wow, don't have much info about this one yet, are all those folks playing that nite? I have heard great things about Jesse Cook and Monte Montgomery, should be a wonderful evening. Oh and yes SpaceMonkey, they have Nomadic and Chaos View up there. A nice choice I thought showing both extremes of TR's virtuosity. Thanx Mandy!
wigrl79 Posted - 06/15/2006 : 9:33:29 PM
If you click on the More link on the bottom right hand corner, it will link to a page that has cds from all the artists that will be playing that night.
SpaceMonkey Posted - 06/15/2006 : 8:08:33 PM
great..how bout you switch the cd from luther college to one of his solo albums?...not like you're selling tickets to a tim and dave show, right?
Let your audience know what they can expect to hear...
