I went to the concert last night and had been crossing my fingers for Tim to show up with Dave B/C they played Vagoose together this weekend and Dave was flying over just for the benefit concert....well I got my wish. Awsome awsome performance..

My personal favs are Nomadic Wavelength and Stream. New TR fans should download some of the live stuff; his improv is obviously unbelieveable... |

You will probably want to start with one of his full acoustic albums like: Stream, Gossip of the Neurons, or Nomadic Wavelength. But feel free to look into his electric/rock stuff. |

I discovered Mr Amazing(Tim) at the Dave and Friends concert in 2004.
Dumb-founded and gitty(sp) I was!!!! I looked like the Cheshire Cat forever after seeing/ hearing him play.
I started with Nomadic Wavelengths and was WAY beyond happy with it!! You could also start with Parallel Universe, his latest; really, anthing you get of his will tickle-you-pink!!    ...and green

This is probably the best first post I have ever read! As for slide guitar, I have heard of Jeff Lang, and he played recently with Chris Whitley, who is one of my favorite slides. Anyways, back to TR, it's awesome you enjoyed him! Feel free to hang around the board and if you have any questions feel free to ask, we always enjoy having new people get into Tim! |

Never heard of, or heard, Tim Reynolds before last night's Bridge School benefit concert at Shoreline Amphitheatre, Mountain View CA. Wow! He & Dave were cookin' - and a good thing, too, 'cause I think they're fingers would have frozen to the strings otherwise.
For the fan who asked, the Bridge School is a special school for kids with severe speech & hearing problems (mostly severely disabled with CP), which was founded & supported by Neil Young & his wife Peggy, whose son attended there for a while (he's now 27). Neil uses his music connections, which are prodigious, to bring in amazing talent, and the concert raises thousands of dollars for the expensive services the school provides on an ability-to-pay basis, until the child can be mainstreamed back into regular school, at which time the child & family get transitional & after-care. It looked like the staff-student ration is about 1:2, and the school is loaded with hi- tech equipment to enable the students to progress to their utmost potential. One student recently graduated from San Francisco State University - a gigantic achievement, given the many obstacles and challenges the student faced.
Anyway, a question. Dave joked around a bit with Tim & the audience, and made a sly reference to getting his "tubes cleaned out" in Vegas at Vegoose the night before. Anyone knows what this means? I've got an educated guess, but am not up on the euphemistic lingo.
Anyhow, Tim Reynolds fans - I'm a convert! Your man did you proud...I got a thing for good slide guitar to begin with (ever hear of Jeff Lang, an Aussie?), but Tim's skills transcend the slide, the fingerpicking, the instrument itself! What album would you recommend as an initial investment? |

I'm not completely sure of this, but I beleive he benefits were started by Neil Young as he has a child with autism. He lives in the Bay area and that's why the concerts have always been here. Peace, Robin |

As a parent, I can't imagine having a child with such severe disabilities. Its wonderful how help they help these kids overcome their limitations. Here's a clip from their web site.
