Posted - 03/28/2005 : 03:51:13 AM So this will prolly make PJK feel better, BUT everyone else worse at the same TIMe. To MY knowledge, Greg is not opening any of those shows. I am confident about the 28th and 29th as I have already posted the bands we will be playing with for those shows. I got the info from the contracts and straight from Tom's lips. As for the 30th, there is no opener listed, so I guess it's a possibility, but noone has mentioned that to me and it seems like the kind of thing Tom would have said there was a possibility of if it was indeed a possibility. He knows how much we like to work with Greg, so I think he would have mentioned it if it was likely to happen. Sorry to be the bearer of the bad news, but whose to say Greg won't show up on some future dates with TR, but I am afraid he is not on any of the shows in April. By the way, if you go back to the Parallel Universe TouR dates thread, you will notice that the opening acts have been listed there already. Hope this news doesn't bum anyone out too much. I would have liked that as much as you guys would have. If nothing else, it should help to make PJK's decision a bit easier. |

Posted - 03/28/2005 : 12:10:38 AM yeah, I sure hope Greg opens those shows, he really is a GREAT guy. Got to sit around and chat with him for a while before and after the show. Very cool and down to earth. He said he's had a busy week, played 3 other shows for his 20th year aniversery AND was in the studio monday and tuesday working on yet ANOTHER new album.
If you get a chance to make any of the shows, you really need to, cause Greg is AMAZING to watch. Soo much talent. I'd take a gander and say that Tim would sit in on a song or two, cause they did put out Sticks and Stones together back in the day |

Posted - 03/27/2005 : 7:22:51 PM yes, PJK, go see Ravi! I saw him with Anushka a few years back, and as said, Tims got many more years left for great music than Ravi |

Posted - 03/27/2005 : 5:47:52 PM Go see Ravi, my God, he is one of THE greatest musicains of the 21st century!!! He is very, very old now but an amazing master. Tim still has many years ahead of him of great music! :)Ravi is just a towering figure! |

Posted - 03/27/2005 : 2:17:16 PM And also how many years does Ravi have left in him, you know? It'd probably be better to see him now while he's still touring. He'll probably retire way before Tim ever does. |

Posted - 03/27/2005 : 1:39:23 PM Erich, would you believe I just checked my calendar and I have tickets to see Ravi Shankar on the 29th of April in Priceton NJ. Such a tough decision. I love Tim but I have awesome seats for Ravi and I just can't pass up the opportunity to hear him play. I bought these tickets last June! Truth be known, if Tim could get to hear Ravi, I bet he would! |

Posted - 03/27/2005 : 11:55:08 AM OMG I have always wanted to hear Greg, just never could make it to any of his shows. The only TIM show I could remotely get to is the one in Brooklyn, if Greg plays that one I am just going to have to try hard to get there!
BurbonSong, can't thank you enough for the info. Would you post it if he will be in Brooklyn? |
