Can someone confirm (or preferably deny) that this show took place? Fluffy?

Yep, Dave and Tim played first for about an hour, followed by a two hour set by Dave & Friends (minus Trey) with the final four songs being joined by Ed Vedder. It was a private party and it was out of control.

believe me or not, but it happened.

ps - no new material was played.

I'm not sure I believe it but I'd like confirmation from someone who was there or someone in the know. :)

The show in seattle did happen, I was there. It was for the Glaser wedding reception, a gift for Rob's new bride, because she loves Dave and Pearl Jam. It was a suprise for all the guests. Dave and Tim played alone for an hour, then the band, minus Trey came out for about 1.5 hours and Eddie appeared for the last few songs. If you thought Eddie and Neil Young were good singing "Rockin in the free world", you would have loved Dave and Eddie. They also sang happy birthday to Rob's bride, harvest moon, and Thank You. There were a few more songs but I do not know the names of them. I don't know the names of very many Dave songs, so I cannot tell you the set list. It was the best show I have ever been to.

did you come up with this? I think its brilliant

I second a TR and PG collaboration. I've often wondered what PG would think (or perhaps has thought) of TR's arrangements of his songs. In Your Eyes and San Jacinto are among my favorite TR covers, and his version of Of These, Hope from 10-23-2000 is/was another particularly good interpretation.

I've dreamed of Peter Gabriel and Tim playing together, that colloboration would be better than a new album on either of their parts. So, I suppose I can see where you are coming from.

Tim Reynolds, the best thing since the guitar was invented.

Pearl Jam and DMB were my favourite bands for a combined total of about 10 years. I'm only 19... you have no idea how long I've dreamed of them playing together.

Woo. Now I know what happened. Thanks!

TR was in attendance, it was a last minute thing since it was a suprise for wedding party. I am told even the guests didn't know who was going to perform although I bet some suspected. TR flew up the day before and had a long day of rehearsals and said the show ended up being alot of fun. Trey was not in attendance at this performance, and his shoes were capably filled by Eddie Vedder. I don't think Eddie played for the whole show, but TR said they did a wicked long cover of "Rockin in the Free World" and also worked out a new cover by Nick Cave(I forget the name). He said they played pretty much a Dave and Friends set with a few changes. TR and Dave even did a small acoustic set as well. All in all, TR said it was alot of fun but a very long day. Brady Blade was in attendance and is going to be at the shows with TR in NM barring any unforeseen circumstances.

actually, i believe that's his 714 taylor he tunes to baritone. so they could have been playing Stay or Leave or any other song dave uses that tuning for. so the pic doesn't do much for me, however i hope it is true :)

Well, the only other time he's used hhis Taylor for a D+F performance (pic 3) was at Bonnaroo and its pretty obvious by the exit sign that the picture isn't from Bonnaroo.

Fish has been here for a while, and I miss her cute ass a lot. Stick around Sarah!
PJK Posted - 11/15/2004 : 7:51:34 PM
debourax, glad to hear you are a TIM fan. Seriously, I do hope you stick around here. I think you will find everyone who is a regular here is really into TIM's music and enjoy having new people join and add their perspective to the board.

dontpokemybigeyedfish, same goes for you. Welcome and stick around!

Again, not that I really care, but an undated picture that could be from a variety of shows does not indicate to me that some particular event did or did not happen. People need more hobbies, myself included, so as not to distract ourselves with the every movement of Dave Matthews (or in my case TR).

The fact that Dave has never played his Taylor with Tim means this is either a really good fake or indeed from the Showbox show.

dontpokemybigeyedfish Posted - 11/15/2004 : 6:10:49 PM
i do believe that's the showbox. haven't been in awhile but i'm about 99% sure that's it. cool stuff. i definitely wouldn't mind seeing either of them there.

Real Player sucks.
Erich Posted - 11/15/2004 : 3:35:10 PM
am.org confirmed it. dunno what that means, but hopefully it means recordings, more pics, or a video. i'll settle for a setlist.
debourax Posted - 11/15/2004 : 3:01:55 PM
Actually, I couldn't give much of a shit about Dave Matthews in this case. I am however a fan of Tim and Eddie Vedder and the thought of them playing together was interesting to me. I thought maybe someone here would care too.

Well debourax, this was an amusing ride. Funny, cause to me it doesn't look like TIM in the background, but maybe that is because the mic is in the way. I suppose Fluffy will post something about this on here. I hope whatever he says puts an end to your curiosity.
debourax Posted - 11/15/2004 : 05:24:41 AM
Well, looks like the girl who said she talked to fluffy was talking bullshit. Because it seems to have happened.

One pic here: This is the only one Tim is in...

PJK Posted - 11/14/2004 : 9:09:41 PM
Now I know how rumors get started! LOL I find this whole thing pretty damn funny. What next???? I think some people have way too much TIMe on their hands.
debourax Posted - 11/14/2004 : 8:44:32 PM
Well one of the girls in that thread (here: http://www.anyoneseenthebridge.com/msgboard/showthread.php?s=&threadid=355688&perpage=20&pagenumber=4) said she already talked to flufffy tonight and he said it had not happened. Apparently he also said that no one knew where Brady Blade was and was unsure if he would even be making the scheduled shows with Tim. I'm hoping there are no problems there because I'm looking forward to seeing them play together :)

At this point I guess Fluffy is the only accessible person who would really know.

And thanks for the welcome, PJK.
filmdude100cms Posted - 11/14/2004 : 8:01:45 PM
i came here looking for answeres to this myself... i hope fluffy can shed some insight on this.
Stephen Posted - 11/14/2004 : 5:20:37 PM
It doesn't matter to me whether or not it happened, but it would be nice to know if the rumors are true, just out of curiousity.
PJK Posted - 11/14/2004 : 5:15:01 PM
Apparently it was for Rob Glaser's wedding reception (CEO of Real Networks)????? I thought it sounded legit, but hey, like I said, I don't really care one way or the other.

debourax, first, welcome! Hope you stick around and post more here. Secondly, sorry if you were close by and missed it but if you weren't invited and I imagine you weren't, it wouldn't have done any good anyway, so cheer up.
JTR Posted - 11/14/2004 : 3:10:33 PM
Unless it was a celebrity or an incredibly rich person wedding, I doubt it highly. I'm sure booking Matthews costs a shitload.
debourax Posted - 11/14/2004 : 2:02:42 PM
No, it doesn't *matter* I only said preferably deny because I was supposed to be around tehre last night and would have been pissed if I missed it :/
PJK Posted - 11/14/2004 : 1:54:18 PM
Just out of curiosity, why does it matter if it happened or not? If it was as they said, it was a private wedding party. I just don't see the point in caring if it happened or not.

But thats just me.
