Posted - 09/12/2004 : 3:17:29 PM Haven't posted in a while but now it is past due. I'm traveling 2 hours north to see Tim at the river street jazz cafe. I remember the last time he played there I was about 5 feet away from him so it should be an interesting "all acoustic" evening. I will be adding a review and hopefully pics as long as I can snag the rents' digital camera. Following up soon...

Posted - 09/13/2004 : 12:09:02 PM Thanks for the review Kundalini. I know what you mean about being awestruck at Tim. I've met him about 10 times and I still get all speechless.

The reggae song was most likely a tune called Tribulation. Look for it on the upcoming double disc that should be out soon! |

Posted - 09/13/2004 : 02:05:23 AM Just got back from the Wilkes-Barre show, and thought I'd put in my two cents before I take a 4 hour nap before work. First of all, I got there 2 hours before the show started, and the doors weren't even open, but the owners were gracious enough to let us in. So I grab a table at the front, and about 30 seconds later, I notice Tim is standing right next to me. I was so stunned, I said NOTHING. NOTHING! I would give up my first born child to simply shake his hand, and I couldn't even muster words. Anyway, the show was great. He opened with Hopeful Heresy and then a classical tune (not the Segovia one he usually plays, but still very cool). Then he played a few songs that were new to me. He also sang a lot more than I've seen, especially for an acoustic show. One of the songs he sang on eventually turned into a song that sounded very similar to Something Nasty, but much slower. Chatterbox was also great. The encore was two songs with the electric....a kick-ass version of Hornet's Nest, and then some reggae song I was unfamiliar with. All in all, a great show....but then again, being as close to him as I was, Tim could have been playing a freaking Kazoo for 90 minutes and I would have been just as happy. Really looking forward to the Philadelphia show on Friday. |
