Posted - 08/08/2003 : 4:04:08 PM Lets start with new NEWS, The big news is TR got a new geeTaR, a "TayloR (are you as surprised as me hehe) 714CE AudiToRium Style" with cedar top and steel sTRings. He says it sounds very much like a classical even though it is not nylon sTRings. He TRied out a Yamaha but he didn't like the sound as much. Apparently the major impetus to TRy out the new TayloR was the new Expression System which is some new-fangled fancy pick-up system that you geeTaR geeks probably know lots more about than I do. The new geeTaR will be making appearances on the upcoming Sept TouR. He also informs me that he is getting psyched about new maTeRial and hopes to find TIMe in the fall to get back in the studio and put it all TogetheR. The rough idea sounds quite inTeResting and should come as no surprise to the die-hard TR fans. The new CD will probably be a mixTuRe of acoustic and elecTRic, most of it being in the "band format"(TR's virtual band, Pagan Underdogs) but he has not ruled out the possibility of 1 or 2 solo acoustic pieces. Guess we will just have to wait and see what the crazy little mind of our resident musical genius comes up with, but I am sure excited at the possibilities. Of course, all this can change between now and then due to the whims of "The MAN", but that is what he is thinking at this point.
TR is quite excited for this latest run of shows. The shows will be 1/2 acoustic, 1/2 elecTRic and will include Mason on visuals. We are not sure if there will be video accompaniment(the spelling looks wrong on this word but the dictionary assures me it is right, but I digress.....) for the acoustic portion yet, but who knows what TR could decide, we will just have to wait and see. As for opening acts, looks as though Kaki King will be joining us for Sept 10th-19th and possibly some shows beyond that. Kaki is playing at the 9:30 Club very soon with Angelique Kidjo and I am hoping to check her out so and meet her so I will know what we can expect from her. I have heard her CD and found it quite interesting and enjoyable, I highly recommend it. There is alot of "tapping"(don't know if this is the right word or not) on it and moments that remind me of Fripp or King Crimson style-wise even though it is a solo acoustic CD. Her style seems quite different from TR's, so it should make for an inTeResting evening of geeTaR. Check it out if you get a chance, should be a great opener based on what I have heard so far. Other possibilites for beyond the 19th are Greg Howard(depending upon availability) and our old friend Peter Prince. I am also hoping to see if BROCK can make an appearance at a show or two. We will just have to wait and see what happens for the rest of the dates for openers.

Well I asked Tom about this and he informs me that is was a misprint on the original contract. Apparently that has been amended to subsequent contracts and this show will be no different that the other shows on the TouR, 1/2 acoustic, 1/2 elecTRic.
As for NEW info about the TouR, I have what looks to be the final list of openers for the dates. Again, as always, these could change, but here is the info I have as of this moment:

Does the State Theater mail tickets out or is do you have to pick them up at the box office?

EDIT 2: 3rd row |

Posted - 08/18/2003 : 4:22:12 PM I stand corrected. The number listed for the New Brunswick show is for the State Theater in NB, but they're the ones selling the tickets for the show.
These tickets ARE up for presale (25 bucks) and I think you can get them online at the state theater's website. There's also a seating chart for the crossroads theater at the state theater's website.

Seems there are alot of options available to you, these all seem fairly close to the NJ area and are under 21 shows.
ENGAGEMENT DATE: 9/18/2003 ARTIST: Tim Reynolds VENUE: Funk Box 8-10 East Cross Street Baltimore, MD 18702 PHONE: 410-625-2001 CAPACITY: 400 TICKET PRICE: $15/ $17 d.o.s. DOORS: 8pm AGES: 18+ PERF LENGTH: 1 (90 min.) set PERF. TIME: 10:30pm
Looks to be closer than Annapolis would, you may want to check on that.
Obviously, you finally saw this listing:
ENGAGEMENT DATE: 9/19/2003 ARTIST: Tim Reynolds VENUE: Crossroads Theatre 7 Livingston Avenue New Brunswick, NJ 18702 PHONE: 732-246-7469 CAPACITY: 308 TICKET PRICE: $25; $20 with student ID DOORS: 6:30pm AGES: All PERF LENGTH: 1 (90 min.) set PERF. TIME: 10pm
The Wilkes Barre PA show is also pretty close to NJ but it is 21+ as well, and I see PJK pointed out the Bryn Mawr PA show. Hope you can make to at least one or ALL of these.
Dickey500 asked: quote: The next question is: are the tickets for the NB show sold ONLY at the door? I don't see any "adv" pricing, and I keep getting a busy signal from the crossroads theater. Plus, their website doesn't exist.
I can't answer the phone or website info questions as the info posted is what I have been sent on the contracts, so any info I have would be the same as whats posted. That info comes from headquarters and as we have found is not always accurate. Hence, why I always encourage people to CONFIRM info with the venue. I know, I know, this is hard to do when the venue info is wrong, but unfortunately it is the best I can do. As for your question about tix price, not all clubs have an advance versus day-of-show price. My guess is there will be advance tix and they are probably the same price if you buy them before or at the door. Again, this is a question for the venue. If I can get more accurate info I will be sure to post it.

I am not sure why that particular show has been singled out by Tom Baggott, I will have to ask him. According to Tim & Tom, all the shows were to be 1/2 acoustic, 1/2 elecTRic. Maybe that particular show is different for some reason, I will have to look into that and get back to you, but I hope your starving because TR will be dishing up some healthy servings of elecTRic at all of the shows.
Well it looks like alot of BORED folks will be making it out to alot of these shows, thats great!! Looking forward to seeing some old faces and meeting some new ones. Thanx for all the support and see you all very soon. |

Posted - 08/17/2003 : 01:20:40 AM last year i had to miss the Annapolis show on the Chaos View tour because of a chemistry lab. This year I have an audiology class that meets on tuesdays and gets out at 8pm... mapquest says it is an hour and 28 minutes to Annapolis from my college ( UDelaware)... do y'all think I can make it to the Ram's head with only two minutes to spare? and THEN get in being only 20 years old? sounds like a fun adventure. Dave and everybody else, I'll see you in NJ. Anybody else going to Baltimore? and the Point in Bryn Mawr? I might play at the point before the year is out=) We need to do threads close to the show dates to make sure we know who will be there. quick question - the VT show is labeled as a solo electric.... Fluffy, do you happen to knwo if the other shows will have any electric? I am hungry for some of that. |

Posted - 08/14/2003 : 08:56:56 AM Dave, consider the Bryn Mawr show. It is on the outskirts of Philly, aprox. 1 hour from the turnpike bridge coming into PA. Its all ages and on a Sunday, thus less traffic and at 8pm, so won't be real late. (I think the venue closes at 10 on Sundays) I don't know where in NJ you would be coming from but it is probably closer than MD. (unless ofcourse you are in South Jersey.
That is the show I hope to attend, but the way my life is now it will most likely be a last minute call. I need to see what my chemotherapy schedule will be and then calculate what phase I will be in at the time of the show.
Bryn Mawr is on the Main Line, very nice, I love that area! Hope all this info. helps.
I take it you will only be 20 on the 20th?????

Posted - 08/11/2003 : 05:22:16 AM Hope to see you in GREAT health at this show PJK, how wonderful that would be. And just in case there is still some doubt as to my hectic schedule, I have a show in Baltimore on Sept 29th with BROCK at The Funk Box. Lets see, 10th-27th tour with TR, last show of said tour on the 28th with TR in PA, morning of the 29th rush TR to airport somewhere(?) and bust a move to Baltimore MD for a show with yet another of my acts. I don't wish this kind of schedule on anyone, but I absolutely love it. Busy busy busy! Guess I am just to busy for girlfriends and updates. Sorry! |
