Latest update:

06/23/04 show is retracked, properly named, and uploaded for all to check out! its a fantastic show with a lot of great covers and a lot of great versions of classics (over 9 minutes of Kundalini! its fucking intense).

09/29/03 is also up, last show of the september run last year. I was told not to trade this, but with all respect for the taper, the show came out well and Tim was definatly on that night, regardless of whether half the show is missing. it also has the only version of My Death ever done (publicly ) and one of two versions of Afro Shit from that tour.

I would like to also state, for anyone that downloads these new shows and are wondering what the afp.txt and .cue files are. afp is short for Audio Finger Print, and is the equivilent of a Flac Finger Print. The only difference is that the afp can be taken from any lossless file (wav, flac, shn, ape, etc.). since it only reads the wave portion, it'll always be the same regardless of the compression. this will allow a better track of things if a better compression scheme comes out later, since the afp will still be the same. the composite is the combined afp for all files. its used in case the show ever gets retracked, since the indevidual afps may change, but the composite will stay the same. again, furthers our organization for the shows.

the cue file is just a referance of the track splits, I just think it a good idea to keep. who knows, if you want to join the tracks together for your own private editing, you'll have the same track splits for referance. I just think its good to have it.

If you dont know what the hell im talking about, then dont worry about it. If you want more info, hollar.

Hopefuly more will come, but for now we've hit a relative dry spell. cheers!

Erich, any news on the status of Tim's show from New Brunswick, NJ last September? (Crossroads/State Theater...I think it was Sept 19, 2003)

Thanks for the heads up about the new show Erich! I downloaded the whole show last night! Great "Torch" too!
KevinLesko Posted - 12/11/2003 : 10:53:05 PM
I'm waiting patiently!!! I can't wait to hear it.

Awesome, thanks for the update Erich, I'm at work right now, but I can't wait to get home and download that show. I'll be sure to reply to your email as well, as I have some ideas.

I'lljust throw out a little disclaimer here about the mp3 question on the FTP Server. I, obviously prefer SHN and FLAC. The only reason why I made mp3s available on the server was so that people could get more, quicker. I will (very soon) be removing the mp3s from the server and leaving only SHN and FLAC available because they are lossless.

Anyways, now that I have everything under control with the FTP server, I can focus on the upgrade. I just wanted to get everything set before I even thought about upgrading and improving the speeds. Don't worry about the mp3s on there, I will take care of them. Hope everyone understands.

BTW, Erich, email check!

Nope. Educate people on what MP3s are, and they'll learn what to do and what not to do. the people that are going to burn them and trade them are going to do it regardless of what you tell them, too. This is why we, as the TR community, dont have problems with MP3 pollution, cause we offer both with an explination.

That, and the archive has a lot of MP3s up right now, just not the LMA part of it. No one complains about that, because people are too busy complaining about their own tapes and how people use them. Im not going to go into that unless you really want me to, because i have an opinion thats not very liked in the taping community.

... just like the official TR server has since the begining.

Sorry, Im not going to debate now it cause i have a lot of views that have already probably gotten me blacklisted from the trading community.

Erich, in the original post, I think you meant 7/17...not 7/07.

Also, thanks for the help on figuring out how to play the FLAC stuff.

Fluffy, any idea when the photos for 7/17/03 will be up??
I can't wait to see me with the MAN(GOD)!!

Thanks guys

Ooh! The shows! Thanks Erich.

And I hope you can get Light Up Ahead on their Kevin.

YOU RULE ERICH!! (and so do those who recorded the shows). I'm listening the 9-13 recording right now, and the soundboard quality is simply amazing, I'm also in the process of downloading the Hard Rock Cafe show, so I'll be listening to that after my afternoon classes, gives me something to look forward to! Thanks again for putting those up.

P.S. I have Light Up Ahead on CD and Shifting Currents, as well as TR3, self-titled cassettes, if you need copies of those forthe archives.

joojoo - the winamp plugin also comes as an automatic install with the flac frontend, which you can find info for on the link i recently posted to the other thread. I do not know about winamp3 though, i just know that WA2 you can add tags to the flacs with no problem and they show up.
joojoo Posted - 04/15/2003 : 8:56:07 PM
I believe for winamp there is no "plugin" made with the Nullsoft Installer Service... there is a file that comes with the download from FLAC's sourceforge.net page that you stick into a folder in your winamp directory, then just play the songs like Mp3's. they show up as their filename (atleast in winamp3), no pretty tags like mp3s. read the readme that comes with the download from sourceforge.net for more info on playing flac's.

as a side note: I use flac as a compression for some audio that I really cherish... LALC the most notable of these. I'm pretty pleased with it; you can seek easily, etc.

Check out www.etree.org
They have some info on the FLAC filetype.. I believe there is a winamp plug-in you can get to play them. I'm not sure.

I just finished downloading the July 15th, 1997 show off of the Archive. It's an awesome set. It's really reminiscent of "Gossip of the Neurons", one big long jam set.
Erich Posted - 03/31/2003 : 6:57:43 PM
yup, thats where ive been getting them

As a kind person pointed it out to me, I'll do the same.

They have been posting the D&T shows regularly, and the quality is pretty good. Enjoy.

OK, I'll talk to Erich after the D+T tour and see if I send him those discs if he could put it up on the archive.

The 1996 TR3 show has a good setlist, but the quality of the files leaves a little to be desired. I'd love to hear that 1995 TR3 show, KL. Still love that TR3 from '88 best I think.

might be it, yeah. thanks anyway though fluffy. And if you check out the '03 CO tour thread i mentioned if Mase could be tipped off that the archive is a good place for audio of the upcoming shows, since our ftp is down for now (i emailed him but hes busy so he didnt get back to me)

...but it reminds me of Tone Loc's "Wild Thing" *laughs*. listen to the first 30 seconds....

Yeah, the last track definately isnt Lift, but whatever it is.. IT FREEKIN ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Erich Posted - 01/30/2003 : 7:27:18 PM
i must admit im not responsible for some of the '02 shows, the 5/20/00, or the '97 show. I took them and made minor fixes though which will help, but they were uploaded by someone else. Ive taken the unoficial role of overseeing the recordings though because many of the original cds were tracked pretty badly. I dont normaly complain about stuff that minor, but when disc 2 is one 39 minute track I need to step in
KevinLesko Posted - 01/30/2003 : 7:10:19 PM
man, that new show is downloading sllllloooooowwww!! Thanks for postin it though! If I ever find the time, I have an awesome 1995 TR3 show I could post.
Erich Posted - 01/29/2003 : 10:49:29 PM
thanks for the setlist fluffy. He didnt play Skelleton walls, and that last jam is completely different from the Lift that I know so for santities sake i'll leave it blank for now.
