Posted - 04/02/2002 : 9:13:31 PM Hey Everyone, Here is the most complete list of tour dates for the Chaos View Tour so far. There may still be 1 or 2 additions, so keep watching. Added to this updated list are 3 new dates(05/13 05/14 05/15) and a couple of corrections which are detailed below.
This list of tour dates now includes Capacity of Venue, Ticket Price, Age Allowances(if I have the info), and Door times and Set TIMes. These things change from TIMe to TIMe, so I would suggest that you contact your venue closer to the date and confirm Set TIMes with them. We would not want you to miss the show.
A couple of CORRECTIONS of note: In my flurry of posting, I, somehow, accidently listed the Santa Cruz CA show at the Rio on 2 dates. The ACTUAL date is 05/10, there is NO SHOW in Santa Cruz CA on 05/12. Santa Cruz is on 05/10 Next, SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA COACH HOUSE date has been changed from 05/16 to 05/17 05/17 Coach House in SJC CA. We had to move it to accomodate some more dates in the area which are also added to this list. There is only one CANCELLATION and it is listed at the bottom. Sorry for the ERROR!!

Posted - 05/03/2002 : 4:12:36 PM I find it to be devastating personally that the only date that was cancelled was the one I could actually get to, while not missing days of school, in order to actually graduate high school. Harshing my mellow. Oh well, there will be other TIMes.

I'd like to be the first ones in line, too, even if that means waiting for three hours in line. That's not a must, but hell, I am flying 7 hours for these shows, so I think a good seat isn't a huge request.
Anyway, let's plan at least to get there some early to get in line. That's my only request. Otherwise, just tell me where to go and what time to be there. Oh, and HOW to get there too. I'll probably be in Long Beach that day.
Thanks. Kevin I'll email you.

Fluffy, you're awesome! But I have another question. Tim's site is listing the start time as 6pm for that May 3rd show, but that's the same time as an all ages punk show at the same venue. What exactly is going to happen that night? Also, will sTicketmaster ever change the age to all ages? (perhaps only they know, but I thought I'd throw it out there). Keep up the good work!

Posted - 04/24/2002 : 9:44:53 PM No, no, I'm not looking for a place to stay. I don't mind at all staying at hostels. Did it all the time when I was in England and Germany. And Boston, for that matter. They don't bother me. Even when three Irish guys get completely piss drunk on Smirnoff (I took a little and I hadn't before realized how strong it was). And then one of the guys wakes up in the middle of the night, fumbles around the room (the sweltering room, I might add) and swings open a locker door and pisses for about a minute, right there on the floor.
Well, it wasn't my locker, and he was facing away from me, so I didn't mind.
But really, I'm not asking you guys for a place to stay. Right now, what I'm asking for is for everyone to send good karma my way so I can be free of work for that week. After that, it's just icing on the cake.
But thanks for the offer pcbdmb and Kevin. If it should turn out that it is completely convenient for all invloved for me to crash with one of you, that would be cool too.
Maybe I'll burn some old D&T shows I have and bring them along as 'payment.'

How could I forget about PCH?!?!! That is a very nice place to drive......that is when there isn't any traffic. Also, you could go to Disneyland!! Yay!! But since you have no way of getting there, and you have very little TIMe.....I don't see that happening. I would also recommend Beverly Hills. Very nice place to see. If Kev and I have TIMe, maybe we all of us could drive around. Also, I would invite you to crash at my house, but the problem is it isn't MY house.....my parents would freak out if I let someone they didn't know into their house. But if I was still at school at that point, I'd let ya stay.

Posted - 04/24/2002 : 8:43:07 PM 1. I would skip the TJ idea if I were you. Ist off, ever since whole terrorist thing, waits at the border take forever now.
I really know nothing about Hostiles in the area.. sorry about that. I do know that the amtrak train is a pretty good way of travling. There is a station here in Irvine, and my girlfriend takes that to and from San Diego all the time. I know it goes up to LA too. As far as buses go, its up to you if you'd want to go that route.. lots of wierdos take the bus so it's not always the safest way to go.
While in San Diego, you might want to check out Old Town and a restraunt called Casa de Bandini. Damn good Mexican Food, and lots of cool bars and stuff like that. I would definetely agree with the beach ideas. Mission Bay in SD is nice, up here by Irvine, both Newport and Huntington Beach are beautiful. If you are driving up and down CA you might think about driving up the Coast on PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) It will take you a bit longer but the scenery is a hell of a lot more beautiful than the smoggy trafficy freeways.
I definetly want to meet up for the shows. I guess once you figure out your exact schedule it wil be easy for me and PCDMB to see what we could all do to know if we could meet up, or if I'd be able to give you a ride or whatnot. Even crashing a night on my couch isn't totally out of the question... it's just a matter of if it would work out.
I hope all that is helpful. Hey Liz, GET YOUR ASS OUT HERE TOO!

Posted - 04/24/2002 : 08:33:57 AM I figured taxis=money (lots). Well, I know that from everywhere else I've been. But if that's what I have to do, then that is what I will do. As for you and Kevin taking me anywhere, I sure wouldn't ask you to do that. If we did work something out, however, that would be absolutely fabulous. Maybe we can work on that.
I almost thought that LA wasn't all that big on sights to see. That's cool with me. I've never been to CA so it will all be a sight to me. Don't care about the Hollywood sign...Don't know what Mulholland Drive is, and I'm sure the beach will be one of my first stops.
Thanks for helping me with these questions! Maybe I'll get to go after all and we'll get to meet up while I'm there. That would be cool. I'll probably find out today whether or not I can get away from work.

Posted - 04/24/2002 : 02:11:16 AM 3. How is the mass transit in this area? I've never been out that far West, so I have absolutely no idea. Will I be able to get between all these shows easily by using the public transit?
I don't think you should rely too heavily on public transportation in Southern California. Unless you'd be taking taxis everywhere. I'm sure either Kevin or I would be willing to take you to some of the functions. The only ones I would be able to help with would be the Hollywood and Santa Barbara one. I'm not seeing DMB. As far as the questions go, I'm sure Kevin would be much more help than I would. I primarily know the valley.
4. What is there that I HAVE to see in Los Angeles and San Diego? I'm not all that familiar with the sights. I know that's sad...
That you HAVE to see in Los Angeles? hmmm.......the beach.......that's big nowadays....you've already seen LAX at that point.....ummmm....Hollywood sign?....that's not a big deal.....ummmmm...Mulholland Drive....that's pretty kewl........Kevin....got any ideas?

Posted - 04/24/2002 : 12:26:42 AM I asked my boss today for the days off. He was iff-y, but it does seem like a possibility. I have gone ahead and planned what I want to do, anyway, just in case he says yes. So someone please take a look at this for me.
Here's the tentative itinerary. I am asking for those of you familiar with the travel options in this area (Southern California) to help me with the logistics. Not asking for rides, just what public transit can do for me.
Here goes:
5.12.02 MEM (Memphis) to LAX (Los Angeles) 5.13.02 TR at West Hollywood 5.14.02 TR at Solana Beach 5.15.02 DMB at Los Angeles 5.16.02 DMB at Irvine 5.17.02 TR at San Juan Capistrano 5.18.02 Tourist-y stuff day 5.19.02 LAX to MEM
On to the problems and questions. Anyone who knows, please address them.
1. I'd like to swing down to Tijuana for a few hours, too. The Solana Beach show would be the closest, so maybe I could go that day and come back to the show? Please advise. Maybe I should just ditch the Mexico idea?
2. I'd be staying at a hostel somewhere in LA, for every night. Probably would be easiest to say at the same one the whole time, but that's not a must. The three I see are Santa Monica, Fullerton, and San Pedro. The second two would be the closest physically to the majority of the stuff. Which of these places would be better to stay?
3. How is the mass transit in this area? I've never been out that far West, so I have absolutely no idea. Will I be able to get between all these shows easily by using the public transit?
4. What is there that I HAVE to see in Los Angeles and San Diego? I'm not all that familiar with the sights. I know that's sad...
5. Anyone wanna meet me at the shows?
Ok, those questions mainly go out to pcbdmb and KevinLesko, simply because they are the ones that mentioned this area. I would love to get your advice and all on the situation.
Please and thanks!!

No midwest dates this tour. This is quite a short tour by TR standards which really limits our travelling capabilities. It was all very last minute. As you will all remember, TR was planning to take the Spring off and head back out in the Fall. Well he got so excited about the new stuff he wanted to try it out on the road. So we put together this quick little 3 week tour. It will basically take us south along the California coast to San Diego and then end in Las Vegas. At least that is what is projected right now. We are still waiting for more confirmed dates. I will post them as I have them. Sorry to everyone else, but keep your fingers crossed for the Fall tour. I am told it will be alot more extensive and inclusive.

Posted - 04/22/2002 : 07:02:11 AM hey Chewman, sorry to say it is only a small chance. There is talk that the fall tour may end in the vicinity of Chicago, so it is not completely out of the realm of possibility. I will mention it to the booking agent and see if it works into his plans. Good to see ya back!

Posted - 04/22/2002 : 01:36:21 AM Hey Fluffy... if the Martin's didn't have pickups, then where did the signal come from? I don't remember seeing them being mic'ed or anything. I'm not familiar with the Sansamp stuff, but I thought those were pretty much just a direct box. Sorry I'm just a little confused.

Posted - 04/21/2002 : 02:44:23 AM Hey Dave, it may change by the actual first date, but the guitars that TR is talking about bringing are as follows:
1)Les Paul 2)Gibson SG 3)7-string Ibanez 4)Yamaha acoustic with built in pickup
I think Michael may have mentioned this last on in his review of the show in Taos. He mentioned a guitar with a pickup in it. I think this may be the one. The Martins had no pickups in them, TR used the SansAmp acoustic DI's for the Martins. Hope this helps. If he lets me know of any changes I will be happy to post them.

Posted - 04/16/2002 : 05:09:38 AM Chatterballs, I couldn't be more sorry!! That show is cancelled. Hopeful we will be able to set something up for the future, but it just does not look like it is in the cards for this tour. Sorry again for getting your hopes up, I will make it up to you somehow. Maybe put you on the guest list when we finally make it back to Missoula. Be patient, it will happen. Sorry again. Don't hate me. It is a crazy business I have chosen.

Thanks Fluffy! I already thought I was a member, but I guess i had just been coming here for awhile without posting.
So about the Graceland show, is there a possibility of making it an all ages show like last time? I have a friend who's a huge TR fan. I think she has pretty much every show and release. Unfortunately she's only 15. I know the show there was all ages last time, and IMO it was the better crowd of the 2 shows.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for her.

Posted - 04/03/2002 : 04:37:56 AM WISH setLIST?
Hopefully the fall tour will cover the other areas. This tour looks to be all west coast, sorry to say. Projected tour route is CO, UT, WY, MT, WA, OR, NoCA, SoCA, and ending in Las Vegas. Although nothing beyond what I have posted is confirmed so things could change. The fall tour Tom is hoping for will take us from NM across the south to Florida and then up the east coast and then across to the Chicago area. Again, it is all speculation at this time, but that is the plan as it stands now. So hopefully by the end of the year we will have hit all areas. The east coast must be feeling pretty ignored about now. Sorry about that. It is unintentional. It is just the nature of the business. We gotta go where we can book the shows. Certain parts of the country prefer to have the show in the fall as opposed to the spring. Better turnouts. Be patient, we will hitting lots of places we haven't been in a while in the fall.
