Posted - 04/01/2003 : 6:35:07 PM This goes out to Erich or earlearl(or anyone interested in helping a brotha out). Here's my idea:
I was wondering if someone who has all the shows(or most of them)would be willing to make ME a compilation CD of all the TR solos in preferably chronological order. I know most people want all the shows but I would be happy with all of TR's solos from all the shows. Would this be really hard? Am I asking way to much? I just think it would be really kewl to be able to hear all of TR's solos from the shows all on one or two CD's. LMK if anyone is interested in giving this a shot. |

Any chance you can AIM the lossless version to me? I know that's a lot to ask... if you can, great! If you can't, no problem. |

I have that show, however I only have it in lossy, but I can email you his solos (After the Goldrush>Ohio and I think Letting Go). I'm looking at a setlist, but the daveheads usually put Letting Go as the name of any Tim solo they don't know haha. Shoot me an email at kwyman(at)gmail(dot)com ;)
if he confirms that he wants mp3s then I have no problem getting that from you and sending the comp to him... let him confirm it then we'll do bidness. |

Posted - 04/07/2003 : 01:39:40 AM Arthen/Fluffy/anyone else interested... Im 1 show away from a full set of '03 d+t shows, so i can create both a comp and a full solo set for anyone. Im creating the comp anyway, should be really good since the solos this tour were fantastic. |

Posted - 04/02/2003 : 03:01:44 AM During "Typical Situations" I've got times where he does his descending lick from "Open Up And Let It In" the, 0-0-7, 0-0-0-7, part. Does anyone know what part I'm talking about? I hope so. I've got it during the Luther show. |

Small thing to add to the comments about the Birchmere show I mentioned above, I discoved(and I am sure alot of you already knew this or heard it)that during Minarets you can hear snippets of the intro to Is Anybody Here from SIYS. I think it's pretty kewl since that recording is from 94 and SIYS did not come out until 2000. I guess that little part had been going around in TR's head for quite some TIMe. Glad it finally found a home so many years later.
I dont remember hearing that, but im listening to the tim solo from 5/27/93, Tree Of Life, and that also has that little part of IAH?, which is cool. |

Posted - 04/01/2003 : 8:23:43 PM I love it at the end of Tree Of Life...TR says " That's a Gospel Folk Jazz song." |

Posted - 04/01/2003 : 8:02:18 PM Yeah..Tim's ablity to just fall into place on songs is amazing. I read somewhere that before the 3/14/99 show with Santana, Tim had never heard Love of My life, or John the Revelator (the Dave and Santana version..) before the soundcheck that morning. |

Posted - 04/01/2003 : 7:59:37 PM I love the Prism House show. Great old version of "Granny" and Dave says to Tim: "I don't think you've ever heard this song before." Which just goes to show how awesome Tim is at improving. |

Posted - 04/01/2003 : 7:18:41 PM You should also check out the Prism Coffee house show if you're interested in some great T+D stuff. Quality is phenomenal and you can hear Tim talk several TIMes if I recall correctly. I know he thanks Ron Lessard for providing the guitars for the evening (how bizarre is that). I was actually at the Prism a few days ago...incredibly small, no wonder the show turned out so well. |

Posted - 04/01/2003 : 7:11:35 PM Erich mentioned earlier that he'd do something like that for me, so I'm sure he'll gladly help you out.
I've got a version of You Are My Sanity where he says he wrote it while sitting on top of a mountain. I think it's the one from Storytellers. Also Tree of Life is great, "This is a story about a pet tree. Then it goes into the question, cultural mileu that we find ourselves in. And it goes back and forth between those two different things." |

Posted - 04/01/2003 : 7:05:58 PM I love that show. You'll notice that Warehouse and Dancing Nancies from that show were used on the Recently EP way back when (in fact I think they are just the exact same DSBD mix found on the full copy). One thing that makes that show super cool is: Tim actually TALKS! |

Posted - 04/01/2003 : 6:52:19 PM I am guessing that everyone around these parts probably already has this, but I just acquired a pristine recording of T&D at The Birchmere in Alexandria VA on Feb 21st 94. Dave says alot of funny stuff on this and even says "It's always a pleasure playing with TIM, he makes me smile like NUTCASE!". He also says that it's the first TIMe he and TR have played DC(Alexandria being a suburb of DC). It comes in nice packaging and again, the sound it fantastic. You can ever hear TR talking from TIMe to TIMe. He actually introduces You Are My Sanity as originally being entitled MountainView and goes on to be the funny TR we all know and love. Has anyone else heard this? I am guessing I am way behind the curve on this but just thought I would share in case it is something that is not readily available as it sounds fantastic and is, for my tastes, a great selection of songs, so I enjoy it alot more than L@LC. The balance of the guitars is way better than either of the shows I just saw and you can really hear TR's playing along with Dave. Sometimes TR's parts maybe a little to loud, if that's possible. HEHE |

Posted - 04/01/2003 : 6:37:31 PM I might be able to do that. I will have all the shows as soon as the tour ends. |
