How customized are Tim's Electric Guitars? What components (i.e. Pickups), if anything, has he switched out from factory configuration?

I keep waiting to see some Tim Reynolds signature model guitar emerge(it would have to be an Electric.. a Gibson or a Fender). I could just picture the Alien motif on a Flying V... how cool would that be?

I asked him about his cream Strat as he was putting it away after a TR3 show in Portland earlier this year. He seemed to indicate it had the vintage noiseless (not N2 or N3) pickups on it. I'm not sure if he got them with the guitar or had them switched out after the fact. Either way, I love the tone coming out of that instrument, whether he's playing with TR3, DMB or sitting in with someone else.

One more question, is Tim's Flying V the "Faded Worn Cherry", or the regular "Cherry" color.
