Posted - 03/19/2007 : 12:59:45 PM yeah. you have to figure out how to finger things most effeciently and what gives you the tone you want, but that's not really that hard to do. a lot of sheet music gives you left hand fingers, and that makes it even easier. |

Posted - 03/19/2007 : 04:09:07 AM The one problem with notation, is with guitar, there are so many different places of playing chords on the neck, and they do give you different sounds (of course tablature only works for fretted instruments, naturaly). Even 2-4 string chords sound different depending on how much room they have to ring. But, tab doesn't give you the rythm, and the notes are harder to figure out by looking at it. What's nice is when you have notaion and tablature combination, so you know the beat and the notes, plus the actual tablature to know the location of the strings to be pressed. Sadly, that takes a lot of work, and normaly are only found in books and magazines. |

It just gives you one MORE way to be smarmy, you mean. |

Posted - 03/13/2007 : 4:22:33 PM Uh, that tab sucks, so if you are trying to learn from that, you're in trouble. Best is to listen and watch. |
