Hey i made an acosutic song last night... its all tapping... i want to see wat u ppl think. Its only a demo so i know the timming is not good..

heres the link

http://s45.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2BKBUBZ85TV1R1Y50I1KN6F7GX

but turn it up loud when u listen cause the bass is a little loud in the mix... therefore u might not hear all the notes clearly

anyway thanks

Ive actually been playing a "Simon & Patrick" for the past year, surpisingly enough i really like it. It's the SP-6 model. Not as costly but a decent sound none-the-less. Much enjoyed!

yeah martins and taylors.. the debate will never end. I am a taylor guy because they are generally brighter, and when you play harmonics, they ring so crisply. It just depends on what you want. My taylor 214e has the prefix pickup with the built-in microphone blender. Ya can't get a much more natural sound than that for direct line recording.

I find guitars are much like cars, youre either a ford guy or a dodge guy...a Martin guy or a Taylor guy. Dont get me wrong, there are some amazing Taylors out there, but im a Martin Co. guy for sure.

Agreed. I've owned 3 Martin's and have loved them all. It's a great investment. However, I do find myself wanting a Taylor 412ce. My house got broken into this time last year and I lost some gear but my 2 main axes survived. Sadly, the Gibson Les Paul did not make it.

FiS Posted - 10/24/2005 : 1:58:25 PM
very nice
what kind of guitar do you have? ovation?
heard those were more suited for tapping
tapping is a bitch on my martin but i have my action slightly higher than stock for slide work

as for recording on computer, cool edit pro is nice but it got bought by adobe and is now called audition
definitely worth it if you can afford it

Batstone Posted - 10/21/2005 : 10:10:22 AM

OnlySuperstition Posted - 10/21/2005 : 09:58:31 AM
The clip is pretty good. I also think the sound quality is was excellent. How did you record this? I am just starting to research how i can record with out spending a million dollars. Any suggestions would be appreciated

last message got cut off:
I meant to say (to batstone) that listening to McLaughlin helped me refine my tapping technique. and it might give you some new ideas to play around with.

Cool stuff. I'd recommend checking out the following songs by Billy McLaughlin:

Clockshop
Helms Place
Hold on to Forever

they should provide some inspirational tap-style playing
