Hey guys...I was just sorta checkin out this vid I got of Tim playing Decline In Reason, and was wondering if this is how he plays it (as compared to the tab on the site)?

E:|--------------------3-
B:|--------------------5-
G:|--------------------5-
D:|----------7---5---3---
A:|-----h5---7---5---3---
D:|-0-0----7---5---3----- and so on and so forth

The tab on the site is really good, but I thought this part seemed more accurate this way maybe?

I don't think the idea should be to learn his songs exact. It's better to make your own artistic interpretation of it (without straying too off-course). So if you're convinced, go for it. Somebody else might play it how they feel is most "correct" for them.

you should probably notate it as a tap to avoid confusion.

hrw is right.

He does smack those bar chords with his left hand, though he does finger pick them as well, thumb then index and middle fingers.

Hmm...I guess I'd have to post an mp3 or something to explain how I play it lol...the h5 is more like a left hand tap I guess. You slap the low D twice, than tap the D on the 5th string with your left hand, and the rest is played as you would normally slap a line.

I've been playing bass for a lot longer than guitar, so when I watched Tim playing this on one of the DVDs I have, I was pretty much convinced this is how he plays it.

Sorry Kevin, I don't know what you did up there, but it barely vaguely resembles Decline in Reason.

what's he hammering on from to get to that d? all it says is h5.
