Gibson les paul studio, or sg standard?

Im lookin to get either one, and i want to be able to have ease soloing, and also enjoy basic playability. I haven't played either, but heard that lp's make it hard to hit highs (15 fret and on) b/c of the neck joint. Which one sounds better/plays better?

some feedback would be cool...thanks

My 2 cents:
I like the sound of Les Pauls better, but the feel of an SG better being that it's lighter.

For pure soloing joy, though, I love the feel of a Fender Strat over anything.
