I've read mixed reviews about the epiphone sg's (the goth in particular), and many mixed reviews about tele's (cheaper price range ones). Any advice from you guys would be great on what to get. I want a chunky sound, but i also want to get somthing that can wail. HELP(please)! |

I'd get the Gibson. |

Posted - 01/10/2005 : 7:07:40 PM Tele's can tend to have a bit more of a twangy sound... I'd go for a strat over either of them, personally. |

Posted - 01/06/2005 : 11:44:07 PM If you are going to get any kind of SG/Les Paul save up a little longer and just buy a Gibson. I get my kicks playing a 1972 Les Paul, and it fucking rules. |

Posted - 01/05/2005 : 2:29:38 PM I have an old Epiphone Les Paul Standard from about 10 or 12 years ago. I love it. Back then they actually made them really well, and actually comparable to Gibson models. Nowadays, Epis are kind of cheapo, unless you're buying the higher end Epis. But if you're going to do that, you might as well get a Gibson. Ibanez has some great stuff.

Posted - 01/05/2005 : 10:12:07 AM if you can find an OLD peavey check them out, might not be too cheap but I got mine a while back for like $300.
Ibanez is cool too...I see it as this...
Epiphone is the "cheap" brand and ibanez is the "less expensive" brand
