Whenever I think of good bluegrass I think of Flatt and Scruggs. Amazing. Bill Nerishi from SCI is great too. The oppening flatpick part in "How Mountain Girls Can Love" is amazing.

I love the style, but it isn't my perferred style. Tony Rice is the man, he is so damn fast. I love bluegrass.

Is flatpicking any different from using a pick in general? I'm aware of the style but ignorant of the specifics that might differentiate it.

I'm terrible at it cause I started out playing classical and picks just never felt right. So when I want to play some grass I grab the banjo.

I started out doing it ... stopped for awhile ... and am right back to it. I love it - really challenges you as a guitar player...fun stuff.
