Posted - 07/08/2003 : 1:06:02 PM does anyone know how Tim does that soft, smooth sound when he plays his acoustic guitar. It almost sounds like a violin playing. I've heard him do it a lot of times, but I can't figure out how. I've tried the DD-5 and even the Line6 pedals but nothing comes close. I'd think it has something to do with a slide but even then I can't get it. If anyone knows what I'm talking about and possible seen him do it live, let me know.. i'd appreciate it.
Thanks, Mike |

Posted - 07/28/2003 : 6:30:24 PM TR definately brought the Ring modulator on the second half of the 2001 spring acoustic tour. and according to the setup page, TR switched from the Morley to the ernie ball after the 99 D+T tour. |

Posted - 07/28/2003 : 4:56:16 PM ...Care to expand on "nope"?. Talking to me? It was a rhetorical question, because it is definitely a ring modulator in Long Distance Caller. You can listen to the Moogerfooger here... http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/sid=030728133104065033194054449170/g=home/search/detail/base_id/89425 And if you don't think that's right, I'd be interested to hear what you think the effect is at the beginning of, and throughout, Long Distance Caller. |

Posted - 07/27/2003 : 12:19:42 PM hey man, just so you know, the Moogerfooger Ring Modulator is what gives Tim the violing like sounds...when coupled with the other stuff these guys are talking about...but the Ring Mod gives the almost synth string sounds... |

Can y'all do me a favor and check out my thread about the Morely?
Thanks
