Posted - 12/30/2002 : 8:58:59 PM In an interview with Monk, Dave Matthews' guitar tech, from the '99 D&T college tour, Monk stated that Tim uses the Morley Wah/Volume, into a Boss DD5, into a Countryman DI. So back then, on the D&T tour, he was using the DI last. Though he was using a Countryman back then.

Posted - 12/29/2002 : 6:37:06 PM yeah, i didnt even consider the DI, I thought we were talking effects/tuner only. But yeah, a DI would be last in the chain.

Posted - 12/29/2002 : 2:51:20 PM I think he has the DL4 very last, since sometimes he loops things with the DL4, and uses the DD5 for delay on top of it. If he had the DD5 AFTER the DL4, the loop that the DL4 was playing would repeat with the delay of the DD5..and just sound like shit. His volume pedal is probably first in the chain, and he has a tuner output on his volume pedal, which I would imagine is where his tuner is placed.
Not sure about his other effects.

Try your own blend, i like keeping the dd-5 last so that all the previous pedals effect the sound of the delay or loop after its been prosessed by the other pedals. I keep my boss tuner first so that i can cut out everything by just hitting the box on. |
