How can i acheive a violin-type sound? it necessary doesn't have to be tim's set-up, but if you want to post that too, that's cool.

If you have a acoustic electric, and no pedal, you can cheat and crank your on board volume up and down...

Woops forgot to specify that by swell, I meant start from no volume and swell up.

What you do is use a volume pedal to create a swell immediately after you pick a string. That way you don't hear the string "attack" and it ends up having a bit of a violin type sound. When you add in some reverb and delay it ends up sounding like you hear TR do it.
