This is tabbed from the 10-2-00 performance. It really is more of a notation tab then a technique one. Well, some technique is indicated but not much. I sat at the computer for about an hour total with my guitar and listened to the song slowed down on winamp. If you care to make any corrections or check my work, I would advise downloading the Pacemaker plugin from winamp.com. Well, I suppose I should stop talking.....now.

And that's it. Those muted slaps in the fast part...I'm not sure whether I imagined them or if they're really there. It's hard to tell. Don't be too critical, cause I'm younger than Jay(I'll be 14 in a month). Any corrections or comments, just post them on the message board.

If you do it back near the bridge on teh low strings you can get somewhat of a boomy sound, but Timmy slaps more up by where the neck joins the body. That way when he hits the body it give him a percussive littel clank of the string hitting the body as well which adds a lot to the music IMO. I woulda never thought to try slapping a guitar if i hadn't seen Tim do it first, the guys innovate as fuck, thats why we love him soo much.

the song is on the ftp, it's the 10-2-00 show at the wetlands. and the song is the wayfarer. i dont really know much about slapping on guitar, i tried it near the neck but thatsounded kinda crappy so i usually slap near the bridge.

I've never heard the studio version of the song, but the pieces that i've tried to play sound accurate and are in the right general area having seen him play it in videos. If only i could slap 1/8 as fast as he does!
