Posted - 02/03/2002 : 9:29:43 PM Well, as promised, I took a look at it, and found out just how hard it is. There's only two structured parts(from what I can tell), with a sort of intro thing. I've basically got the first part down(not hard at all, I'm sure anyone who's tried to tab this song has gotten Part A right away). Also, I got the intro roughly.
Intro e-------------------- b-*12*-*7*--*12*-*5*- g-*12*-*7*--*12*-*5*- d-------------------- a-------------------- C-*12*------*12*----- and stuff with those harmonics, and a bunch of fills for live versions
Part A e--------------------------------------- b-\5------\5----/3------\5------\5------ g----\2------\2------------\2------\2--- d-------------------------------------\2 a--------------------------------------- C-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-
e-\12-------\12-----/10-----\12-------\12-------- b-----\10-------\10-------------\10-------\10---- g---------------------------------------------\9- d------------------------------------------------ a------------------------------------------------ C-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0 With all kinds of fills and crazy improv on harmonics Something I don't understand about this is how it sounds like he's hitting a C one octave up every time on the studio. That might just be the 12-string though. I think it's really unlikely that he's working around the 3rd fret on A string for the first part, and 12th on C string after.
Now for Part B. This sounds impossible to tab to me without seeing a video. From what I can tell he's playing 7 different chords, moving quickly up the fretboard. I picked up on 2 high notes on the last 5 chords: e-?-?--7---8--10--12--13- b-?-?-8--10--12--13--15-- g-?-?-?--?---?---?---?--- d-?-?-?--?---?---?---?--- a------------------------ C------------------------ Then it goes into: e---------0- b--0-0-0--0- g--2-2-2--2- d--3-3-3--3- a-0-2-3-0-0- C----------- That's what I've gotten so far, sorry it's so vague. If anyone has the video, please take a look at part B and try to figure this out. Even if you don't have the video, see what you can do and post it.
