This is my review of the event last night! My 13 yr old wanted to go for his birthday, so we went... It was at the MCI Center in DC. By the way Teri, we took the Metro from New Carrollton Station and I'm glad we did. I'll call the experience: pro wrestling 101. There were 2 event taped for broadcast, sunday night heat and smackdown. These massive men and scary women have matches to defend their title belts: European, Tag Team, cruiser weight, heavy weight, super heavy weight and Hardcore. The event opens with some pretty amazing pyrotechnics, and it about scared the crap out of me at first, LOL! Jerry the King Lawler was there as an announcer. If any of you are familar with Andy Kauffman, Lawler was the wrestler who was part of Kauffman's wrestling act. Some of the wild moves are the Canadian Maple Leaf, unprettier, superplex off the top, tornado DDT,worm, and powerbomb off the top. Some of the wrestlers there were Hip Hop Hippo( Albert and he's huge, 350 lbs), Chuck Palumbo, Christian, the ROCK,Booker T and so on. My fav was Steve Austin! He's go this thing going with the crowd and his favorite word is WHAT? There was this guy you love to hate, Vince McMahan, the owner of WWF. Also Rick Flair was there, startin a comotion, and his favorite saying is
WHOOAA!! Anyway, it was a lot of fun. There was a pumped up crowd and everyone was on good behavior, no fights or brawls in the crowd that I could see. Not that anyone is interested, the sunday night heat will be televised on MTV this sunday. My son was extremely happy!! That's what really counts!!

I don't know if we made it on TV, but I'm going to watch sunday night heat on MTV tomorrow. WE were on the 200 level, row A, right up front. I didn't need my glasses to see, but they might have helped if I brought them. I was on TV once when I saw Paul Simon in Philly many years back. My pic is also on the DMB website, I was in the front row. Pics kinda fuzzy though. It was at First Union Center, the last show of the fall tour in 2000, I think? Anyway, it was a great time going to the event, and I'll probably do it again, for my kiddo!!!

I remember going to WCW 2 years ago. Jeeze, it was a blast. The atmosphere was amazing, fans screaming, hollowing, cheering. Especially when Hulk Hogan came out, and everyone booed and began to cuss him out. It was hilarious, drunken wrestling fans

Sounds like you and your boy had a great time!! Those events are a lot of fun. Wrestling fans get a lot of grief but I'll be damned if it's not one of the better shows put on out there. They really put on an extraveganza. Too bad ECW isnt around anymore, the one ECW show I went to was one of the best times I've ever had. Did you guys show up on TV?
