Posted - 07/16/2010 : 3:20:37 PM Just remembering how alive this message board once was, before the dawn of myspace, facebook, twitter, etc. While it feels like this place is full of cobwebs & dust, it's still haunted with wonderful memories . Since none of the above technology based socialization forums fit me or my style, I gave up on them, but I will never give up on this place.
A message board with a ghost town feel, but somehow, I still feel at home here. Maybe it's my old age or perhaps the fact that I never did do well with change, but I will always have a special love for this place. Thank you Jon, for carving out an Internet space in which those of us who loved the sound of a real guitar god, could have a place to gather and share the music, the love, the passion. A family once resided here.
Hello to all who called this home. Thanks for the memories! |

Posted - 10/23/2011 : 3:21:26 PM Speaking of days gone by, Fluffy, I had to set up a new user id because I couldn't remember which email I used for StarryNightDiva - can you put meppele@gmail.com on my original account - and then delete StarryNiteDiva <-- I had to set up another account to try and get this done. How are you by the way? :) ~peace. Mary |

Posted - 10/16/2011 : 08:57:22 AM Hard to believe it was 8-1/2 years ago that I 1st signed up here! I still check in from time to time, but you're right Pam...since FB & Twitter came along, it hasn't been the same. And who woulda thunk that MySpace would already be a thing of the past?! |

Posted - 06/27/2011 : 10:58:50 PM Wow, it really has slowed down here quite a bit. I still often think about all the friends I met here and the great community this used to be. Pam, hope all has been going well for ya! |

Posted - 06/16/2011 : 5:31:43 PM Hello old friends. I check in once in a while. Hope all is well. Anyone going to Atlantic City on June 25th? I will be there with my daughter and her boyfriend. Thinking about getting the VIP pass. |

Posted - 03/31/2011 : 06:24:26 AM It was much more like when you have an old friend that you haven't spoken to in a while, but when you do talk you just pick right up where you left off. It was pretty unique and very cool. |

Unfortunately, No, I won't be there. I had planned to be, but a family matter came up and family comes first. I hope to catch TR3 in New Hope on April 15 &16, but that is up in the air at this time too. I might be out of town that weekend as well.

I stand corrected Jason! However, this site will never be the way it was. I am just happy I was here for the fun. Those were great days, great fun, great people. As they say, life goes on!
Wishing everyone who is going to see TR or TR3 a great TIMe! You won't be disappointed, Tim always delivers...........ALWAYS! |

Posted - 03/17/2011 : 2:35:36 PM I'm doin well! I moved to Colorado to get my master's degree in music at the University of Northern Colorado, and liked it so much that I'm staying. I play jazz 3-4 nights a week at a club in Fort Collins and play off and on with a rock band, an 8 piece funk band, a Free Improv/experimental music group, and random jazz/society gigs. Colorado has been good to me!
How've you all been? |

Posted - 03/16/2011 : 3:17:56 PM Hey Victorwootenfan! How are you? I still remember the days when you were in college at JMU! So, you're in CO now, in a band, that's awesome! Great to see your screen name on here again. I don't come here much anymore either, none of the "oldies" do. Everyone's gone to facebook, myspace and twitter. Yep, those were the days, long time ago, in a glaxacy far far away............ |

Posted - 03/15/2011 : 03:35:12 AM Hi All, I remember posting on here a lot way back in the day. I also remember learning a lot about music from fellow board members here. I just recently checked out Tim's site because I'm playing in a rock band these days in Colorado, and have been learning Kashmir for the next gig and thought "Doesn't Tim Reynolds have a cover of that..." Low and behold this is probably my first post in years here.
Thanks for the memories guys! |

I can't believe I've been on this board for 9 years (albeit inactive after tim stopped touring solo)
I remember when I first joined I was too young to go see any of Tim's shows because they were always 21+ |

Posted - 08/04/2010 : 3:06:50 PM Yeah it took me a sec to place you sans beard and long(er) hair. I was equally surprised that you'd recognize me... last time I saw you I was a good 50 pounds heavier with short hair and no beard. |

For sure, at least on the "some one I really know" but... when I was in Munich Germany I ran into someone I know by sight. The in was in Baltimore once and ran into my old boss from a job I still work at (but w/ new boss). And her desk is about 15 feet from mine. Crazy, small world.
Surprised you knew who I was -- I didn't expect you to for sure, I was about to tell you. Ie I wasn't trying to make you guess. Haha... |

Posted - 08/01/2010 : 09:13:50 AM Speaking of memories, Hollywood House of Blues is one I will never forget. Fluffy's sister Teri took me in. She was wonderful! It was sweet meeting Kevin, Jason and Patrick in person. The show was fantastic too! I wonder if Fluffy still has the group picture we sent him? Good times...
I still check in from time to time. I have had huge changes in my life since then, even went back to school. I am a Registered Nurse First Assistant in the Operating Room. The human body is amazing, take care of it! |

Posted - 07/31/2010 : 3:15:04 PM Speaking of and remembering days gone by and all that.... I ran into none other than sir Silky The Pimp in ikea in Atlanta. Being from about 6-7 hours away you can imagine it was quite some surprise for the both of us... Nevermind that it's been about 9 years since we last (first) met. Weird random coincidences. |

Posted - 07/23/2010 : 12:53:23 PM I'm not sure if I speak for all the other guys that went to FPR, but I know that when I got there and met the group from the message board for the first time, it was really weird (but cool) because it didn't feel like meeting people for the first time.

Posted - 07/22/2010 : 12:59:41 PM Thanks to the wonderful power of the internet, despite what happens here in the future out past is archived! I fit into your description Pam. I started on here my third of fourth year in high school and kind of grew up with the board. No matter what happens, I know that every time I listen to Jeff Lang or Chris Whitley or Flaming Lips or any other number of artists I enjoy, I know that this is the space that I got turned onto them.
"...haunted with wonderful memories..." and lots of wonderful music... |

I made a few wonderful friends here and you are one of them! |

Posted - 07/17/2010 : 4:05:53 PM Sad to say this folder will never be resurrected. I think it also has to do with the fact that most of the active members were high school and college age and had time to comment. Now everyone is grown up and on to other things. It happens.
I think the friends folder is pretty much dead. I feel the same vibes here that I feel when I pass the house I grew up in. It still looks the same, but it feels weird because I can't go in since the family is long gone. But I have great memories and that will just have to do.
Take care guys. |

Posted - 07/16/2010 : 8:03:59 PM I check the boards pretty regularly, but it's definitely very quiet lately. Hopefully we'll pick back up if he tours in 2011. |

Posted - 07/16/2010 : 7:16:10 PM What a nice post, Pam! I've often wondered why this place is so dead...and I suppose MySpace, Facebook, etc. all play a large part in it. I don't use any of those sites either...so I guess I never considered them responsible.
I think Tim's lack of solo-acoustic touring might have something to do with it to...
Regardless, I'm definitely not one of the "originals" around here...but I lurked long before I posted. I still check almost daily for posts. But those come pretty seldom lately. |
