Posted - 05/06/2009 : 01:28:38 AM Ain't that strange? No offense intended...but it's been a long, long time since I've thought of this this thing...and here it is, one in the morning and I find myself missing the ol' bored. First thing I notice is the little red squiggly that warns me if I'm typing a word wrong. This is new. Helpful, too. Other than that, seems pert' near normal for this time of year. I think I'll just sprawl my mangy ass on the couch, sit for a spell and be amiable like I should be before stealing your beer, your women, your money and your car and running like hell for the Sierra Madre.
Oh, and what the HELL?!?!?! Gone for years and I've only moved down ONE place on the post-count? Slowed down to a crawl, it seems. I'm glad, however, to see that it's still cooking some. |

Posted - 05/09/2009 : 9:55:37 PM I don't think the boards have a spellchecker. I am pretty sure it's firefox or whatever you are using that is doing it. |

Posted - 05/09/2009 : 12:58:12 PM Nice to see you back Jay. The boards have been a bit slower lately.
Is the red squiggly that tells you if you've misspelled a word part of the board, or is that Firefox's doing? |

Posted - 05/06/2009 : 7:56:27 PM nice to hear from everyone! Seems like it's just the die-hards anymore, Pam you're right about the Myspaces. Don't have one, won't make one...who needs em? I sell/test/fix/ship watches. It's a sweet job. I'm also playing slide guitar and banjo in a sort of punk/oldtime band. All acoustic. Where I live, there's a pretty cool, extremely local traditional scene. It's going on all over the place but it's really concentrated in my county and the one beneath it. Some of what's going on can be pretty dull and, like, square or something. Pete Seeger-ey (that sounds awesome, doesn't it?). "WHAT?!?! You play that in DEE?!?!?" Folk-Nazi. Much of the music, however, is really something singular. It's not bluegrass. It is to Bluegrass what Charlie Patton is to Eric Clapton. (Mike Seeger-ey) A good proportion of the musicians' families have lived in the area for 150-175 years or more, with successive generations continuing the tradition. It comes in two flavors, "Back Porch," and "Barn-Burning," Serves All. I'm glad to be a part of it. Other than that I'm fishing. Life's nice. Now pass that fuckin' doobie.

Posted - 05/06/2009 : 6:39:58 PM OMG JAYYYYYYY!!!!!! How have you been? Yep, this place has slowed WAY down, I guess due to MySpace & FaceBook & Twitter, no one wants to visit a message board anymore. Well, some do, those of us who count, LOL!
So glad to see your name. I just had a minute to kill and thought I would see what's happening here and Voila! YOU are what's happening!
What are you up to? Missed you!
and I HAVE to say this for old times sake! "Jay, lay off the weed!" |

Posted - 05/06/2009 : 5:40:11 PM Long time no see Jay.
Sadly, I have no beer (never, actually), no woman, not much money, and my car can't move without pushing it. So might just skip all that and run like hell, or just jam with me while we play Run Like Hell. I love playing that song.
But yeah, I'm still here. However, with a new computer and a new acoustic (Guild GAD-40CE). |
