Posted - 12/19/2008 : 12:59:21 AM So, I've finally received the footage from my performance at the Walnut Valley International Fingerstyle Guitar Competition in Winfield, KS.
Take a listen, and tell me what you think. I had a few minor mistakes which I chalk up to nervousness. And I probably could have tuned a little more carefully between tunes.
The first is called "South and West"...it's tuned in double drop-D.
The second is called "Last One Standing"...it's tuned in DADGAD.

Posted - 04/12/2009 : 7:17:31 PM Yeah, I'm a big proponent of the Baden. It looks cool, plays great, is about half the price as it could be otherwise, and has the Fishman Aura built in.
Thanks for listening to my music. I should probably take more care to get the takes as clean as possible...and improve the sound quality...but frankly I'm too lazy and I don't really care that much.
With that said, I'll be posting more videos soon.
I bet you all can't wait! |

Posted - 04/12/2009 : 11:43:13 AM Sorry I didn't reply earlier. Where I get on the internet usually isn't too conducive to me enjoying sounds. The Dream Became Reality was a beautiful way to start my Easter morning. Thanks. Obviously, I love your 12-string. Also, I've honestly never known about Baden guitars until recently when Rob showed up with his at FPR. It's not the best audio, but I can tell you're getting some great tones on that thing

Posted - 01/10/2009 : 12:23:38 AM And another...it's called The Remedy Is Temporary and it's in drop-D tuning.
An older song. Nothing fancy. With a little TR inspired Kashmir thrown in for good measure!

Posted - 01/09/2009 : 3:41:02 PM Thanks a lot, guys, I appreciate the feedback.
I'll be recording a bunch of stuff this weekend...nothing fancy, just with the built-in camera and mic on my Mac.
I'll let you all know here when I upload some new videos.
Who knows...maybe I'll throw a TR cover in there too...!
By the way, Fluffy, now that I keep getting fatter and fatter, those are the only shorts that fit me anymore! HAHA! |

Posted - 01/09/2009 : 12:37:28 PM I checked out the first link and I have to say I really like you pants!! hehe j/k I really liked it. Of course, this coming from someone who doesn't play guitar so I can't give the same kind of critique the rest of the folks around here can. I will say that at toward the beginning of the 2nd piece the harmonics thing really reminded me of TR. I hope thats a good thing. I think it was really nice. Sadly, the bass on my computer speakers suck ass so I never notice the bass parts no matter how prominent they are. I would really like to hear/see this on real speakers. Great job! Will try to listen to the other one that I just noticed was posted when I get a quick sec! |

Posted - 01/08/2009 : 10:53:46 PM I've added another song to YouTube.
This one's called "Silent Again" and it's in standard tuning.
It's a pretty simple song...but I like it.

That was a new guitar for me, and having switched from my Taylor, I wasn't able to get the best tone out of it. I've since started using an Alaska Pik on my thumb (instead of just my thumb)...which really evens the tone out and clarifies the bass. Unfortunately, I wasn't using the pick when this was recorded...so the bass lines get pretty muted. Such is life... |

Posted - 12/19/2008 : 11:39:08 AM Good stuff man. I think they both may benefit from some more work on the bass end, but the melodies are nice. Also, I know you're a fan of Leo, maybe try your hand at a bit more tension, makes resolution that much sweeter. Really though, great stuff and keep at it! |
