Posted - 12/12/2008 : 3:47:45 PM As all musicians probably have dreamt at some point...I have moved into a new home...a ranch house across the street from my 88acre compound that has been converted into a full fledged Pro Tools recording studio! Anytime I want I can record quality. Hopefully we will be releasing 2 albums next year, one Almighty Terribles record, and my new solo cd. For the first time my idea for this new solo cd is to do just me and my guitar. No overdubs, no looping, just raw with one or two microphones. I want to record the next Dirt Floor.
Anyway, if anyone wants to come hang out in Jersey let me know. Ideally we will be making enough money to pay for the rent. We are going to do cheap flat rates for bands and artists we like and they may stay over, eat, shower and lov ethe recording experience. I can't stand paying $150 an hour for studio time. You can't loosen up I feel. We want to surround the artist with an open environment to explore different realms of audio recording, without paying thousands of dollars.
Kind of like a bed & breakfast recording studio.
Anyway, my next dream is to have TR lay some tracks down at my new home. I think then I'll retire because there would be few things left to top that.
Anyway...HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND AND I AM SERIOUS IF YOU WANT TO TRAVEL COME STAY WITH ME AND CREATE SOMETHING TERRIFINGLY INCREDIBLE OR FANTASTICALLY AWFUL!

Posted - 12/13/2008 : 06:56:16 AM If I could get to Jersey, I would join ya. It is my dream to renovate a barn into a recording studio. There is an old stone house down the street that has been for sale for years, and it has a big barn right next to it. I'd love to move in there and renovate that barn!
If I do get a band together, and need to find a place to record an album, maybe we'll use your place . I also want Greg Howard to produce it! |
