It should be an invisible change to anyone who is logged in and should help alot with the spam.
Please let me know if anything isn't working as expected.

Why not give admin access to another board member or two so some of the burden comes off of you? Most forums have more than one moderator. |

I have Jon Soldo working on it. He is looking into an update of the board with security features that will stop it. So you know, it is a bigger PAIN for me than for all of you. All YOU have to do is OVERLOOK them. You may have noticed they go away. Well that doesn't happen by magic. On Thursday nite I left NYC to drive to San Francisco so I could not be on the board until today. There were 40 new "spam" members that had to be locked by me and 20 threads or posts that had to be deleted. That all takes TIMe, no ones TIMe but mine. So who has it really inconvenienced. If you want to help the situation STOP CLICKING ON THE THREADS & LOOKING AT THEM. I think the reason they keep posting is because people are looking and that is what they want at the end of the day. The want to see how many people read their post and the numbers are always high when I delete. Make it stay @ ZERO. STOP CLICKING ON THE THREADS until I can get Jon to sort out some new system. I don't want a new board as I don't want to lose all our old threads which I think are a valuable resource. So while "the board is going to shit" and "its such a PAIN to navigate thru these spam emails" remember I am the one who has to waste about 30 minutes a day getting rid of them and cleaning it up. No one wants it to end MORE than me. |

i wouldn't say it's going to the dogs, per se. there was just a run in with a couple spammers.
there has to be some way to ruin spammers' days. let's think on this. |
