Posted - 02/07/2008 : 3:32:10 PM I bought a 100 spool of Memorectum CDRs hoping to spread the joy of music to friends and acquaintances, only to find out these fuckbutter pieces of shit will NOT BURN! I made one audio CD from TEN discs, trying 4 different programs. They make shitty coasters too.
Memorex fucking blows! |

no. i reached into the middle of the stack, found a good one and used those. instead of using the next one down, i used the next one up until i hit a shitty cd. then i threw that one and the ones above it out. |

Posted - 02/11/2008 : 02:38:42 AM why do it one by one. I find that CDs burn better when you throw them all on the grill at once. Then I'd add my special seasonings, and mmmmm-mmm, spicy and crunchy. |

Posted - 02/09/2008 : 10:58:41 PM i got some shitty memorex discs a while back. the first like 25 were fucked. middle and bottom of the pile were good, though. |

Posted - 02/09/2008 : 6:29:19 PM Nah, I've used em before, but apparently there are shitty batches out there. They worked fine on my buddy's comp, sold him the discs, and bought Sony's and they work fine. Still lame. |

Posted - 02/08/2008 : 9:52:36 PM It depends on what kind of memorex cd's you get. Some are good and some are horribly bad. Just depends I guess. I just don't buy that brand though. |

Posted - 02/07/2008 : 9:22:19 PM I trust Memorex for actual tape. Though I have not had any problems with their CD-RWs and CD-Rs. Right now I have used 50 out of my hundred Phillips CD-Rs with no problems. Heck, I am burning 6 of them right now and the third just finished fine.
Also some CD-R are data only or music only. Ya gotta look and make sure you can burn music with them (or if you wish data) and not the other. With being able to do both of course is the least risky way. |

Posted - 02/07/2008 : 8:41:59 PM That sucks. I usually use Memorex and don't have a problem, but I have heard plenty of horror stories about them. Usually 5 or so out of a 100 spindle will not burn. The odd thing is that sometimes I can use them for data but not music.
A friend of mine suggested Imation, and even though they seem like an off-brand, he has never had problems with them. |
