Posted - 10/01/2007 : 7:36:04 PM So this morning, I decide to randomly check ticketmaster for tickets for the last DMB show of the tour at the Hollywood Bowl. Two pit tickets come up. THE DAY BEFORE THE SHOW???? Suffice to say I'll be attending. |

Posted - 10/08/2007 : 7:33:39 PM I was wondering how the show was! Truly amazing photo's, thanks for putting them on here. I would love to have been that close! The closest I have ever been at a show was second row for Peter Gabriel and it was a mind blowing experience! You can really interact with the band, in a good way, when you are that close to the stage. All I can say is that I am so happy you got those tickets, it couldn't have happened to a nicer person! Ya know, I am going to have to get to California someday. All these years and we still haven't met in person! You are one of the few long time members that I haven't met in person. (I have to meet pcbTIM too!)
Very cool about the drumstick!
Hey, where are you working now? I will make sure you get a copy of the new SOKO edition of In November Sunlight when it's finished. |

Posted - 10/07/2007 : 9:15:57 PM haha, thanks man... yeah I forgot to mention that about John Mayer, when he got up on stage he said this exactly if I remember correctly: "I've been waiting a long time to say this... I am who I am because of the Dave matthews Band".

Posted - 10/07/2007 : 7:48:19 PM Boy am I jealous. I am also pretty sure John Mayer was freaked out that he could play on stage with his hero. What I would have given my limbs for would be to see Stephan ans Ziggy on stage there with dmb . . . playing EXODUS! I am glad I was able to catch #34 a few years ago when they brought it back out . . . I just want to see them play minarets regularly again . . . and I know boyd wants that.
In conclusion, you are one fucking lucky ass bastard! Enjoy it! |

Posted - 10/07/2007 : 3:36:41 PM What a fun night indeed! I never thought I'd ever be in the front section of the Hollywood Bowl. The seats were amazing! The show was amazing too. I felt as though they really tried to go out of their way to make it a special evening. I think Dave decided that since it was the last night of the tour he didn't care if he lost his voice, so he was really yelling and screaming a lot, balls out performance by Dave. John Mayer guesting was a surprise, although to be honost, I'd have liked to hear Joe Lawlor after having listened to some of those bootlegs posted here. Then inviting Stephan and Ziggy Marley out to do Exodus was just mind blowing. Add that to playing some rare tracks like #34, and some cool new tunes that I dug like The Idea of You, and Eh Hee (I have to admit, the full-band version of that song rocks pretty hard) and you had a damn near perfect night. and yes, to end it all I caught one of Carter's drumsticks that he threw out after the end.
Another cool moment was when Dave invited the whole tour crew on stage to take a bow, very cool. Here are a few pics, nothing great as we had to be sneaky with the giant security guards watching us closely.

Posted - 10/01/2007 : 10:53:51 PM Sweet Kevin, I know when my daughter and I went to DMB concerts we always got our tickets to sold out shows, right before the show, usually sometime between two weeks to the day before the show. Never got pit tickets, but great seats none the less. Ticketmaster always releases tickets before a show.
Again Congrats! Enjoy the show! |
