Teri, I hope you and Fluffy don't get angry with me for posting this. I am not even sure of my "religious" beliefs, but I do believe in the power of prayer and healing vibes. I also know that this board is different from others because it is like a family here.

Fluffdad, aka Fluffy and Teri's dad, is having hip replacement surgery tomorrow. As all of you know, this is a major surgery and one with a long rehab time table. It is also an operation that significantly improves the quality of life for those in need of it.

My prayers and vibes are going out daily for Fluffdad, Mrs. "Fluffdad", Fluffy, Teri and Brian. I know things will go well and Fluffdad will be on his feet in no TIMe, but hopefully the vibes, prayers, and love generated here, will help make it easier on all of you.

Peace, love and hugs to all of you!

Ya, waiting was the worst part. Some of her friends had ruled out cancer just because they didn't even want to think about it or let it be a possibility. I just hope she doesn't have to deal with it again and hopefully she checks herself frequently. I think I remember hearing that if you have had problems before your chances of cancer go up. Hopefully you're done with it too Pam. It's gotta be almost too much to even deal with.

Oh Zack that is great news! I remember when I went through the process, the whole time I was sure I didn't have cancer because they kept telling me 80% of the women who have suspicious mammograms and go for biopsies are negative for cancer. I even remember saying to the woman who was scheduling my biopsy that I feel so sorry for women who have breast cancer. They made me wait 8 days for the result of my biopsy and then my doctor dropped the bombshell that I had cancer. It is the waiting and not knowing that is the worst part! Definitely the worst week of my life. Now most of the time I forget I ever had cancer. Your friend is so lucky to have you for a friend and I am so glad her news was good news!

No it wasn't cancer. That's definitely good. She seems to be doing well enough, but is just sore as can be expected. She was glad when the results came back monday that it was negitive on the cancer, but she's getting bored sitting around doing nothing.

I hope everyone is recovering as well as she is. Keep us posted.

I just ask because my mom suffered a detatched retna last year, and it has taken her almost a full year to fully recover. Horrible, couldn't drive, read, really do anything for a while.

Kevin, thats what my brother in law just had surgery for. He had to keep his head down for two days with no reading, TV etc, doctors didn't want him to focus on anything. I feel so bad for him, but he has no choice except to do what the doctors tell him or he will lose the sight in that eye. They put an air bubble behind the eye. yuck!

I don't know the reason for her surgery but I think it was to correct her vision. I just got an email from her this morning and she is back at work but her vision is still blurry. She could still use our prayers and vibes.

Con't good healing vibes for both Teri and Fluffdad!

Looks like I missed out on the initial set of positive vibes, so I'll go with the healing vibes for everyone's recovery.

Teri, was surgury just to correct you vision or was there a problem? I just ask because my mom suffered a detatched retna last year, and it has taken her almost a full year to fully recover. Horrible, couldn't drive, read, really do anything for a while.

OH TERI!!!!! That just gives me the creeps! I can't imagine having that done to my eyes. Sending you tons of healing vibes! I am sure too, that your vision will get better once the contacts come out. Hang in there, it will get better!

Things are still hazy, but I have great hopes for my follow-up appointment on Monday. They put these contact/band-aid sort of things in my eyes to help the epithelium heal. (More info here) I think once they're out I'll be able to see again. (Crossing fingers)

Fluffy told me that you guys were sending me good vibes too, so I though I would say "Thanks everybody!" again.

I am doing three different kinds of drops four times a day, plus Percoset and Motrin, so things are still a little blurry for me. I have IE set to show everything in the largest font. Too much screen time though, and I'll get a headache.

So it's back to audiobooks for me. I downloaded some books from Audible.com and am enjoying them.

"See" you soon!
teri :)

Teri was in my thought today as well. Sending prayers and healing vibes to your whole family. I am glad Teri's surgery went well. I kind of assumed it took place while I was still asleep this morning, but I did think of her when I woke up.

HAPPY HEALING THOUGHTS TO FLUFFDAD AND TERI!

Dads surgery went fine and he is recovering well, still have a long way to go with recovery and physical therapy, should be about 5 or 6 more weeks all said done. Also on the "healing vibes" list should be Teri, she went in for corrective eye surgery this morning. So I guess the whole family could use "positive vibes" at the moment. So far everyone is doing well and it looks like everyone is progressing as hoped. Thanx for all your concern and well-wishing!

The first thing that he should see when he wakes up is a pint of ben and jerry's . That's the best thing about going to the hospital, Ice Cream . I'd happily pay for it if you'd like me to send money.
PJK Posted - 11/27/2006 : 4:26:47 PM
Please let us know how he is doing. I have been thinking about him on and off all day. Sending tons of healing vibes his way!
Fluffy Posted - 11/27/2006 : 1:45:09 PM
Thanks everyone, he is in surgery as I type this. So far, so good!

I send out good karma for the surgery to go with no problems.

My prayers to your folks Fluffy and Teri. I have a good feeling everything will go fine. It's a very common surgery and the patients do very well when it's done because their pain is improved dramatically. Initially things are slow, but he should be dancing in no TIme!
Arthen Posted - 11/26/2006 : 12:43:40 PM
Definitely something for positive vibes to be sent for. Hope all goes well for your father Teri and Fluff.

My grandma just went through this about four months ago...Man, I'll tell you...She walks faster than me, and she's 90!

I hope everything works out perfectly! I'll definately be thinking about him and the surgery all day tomorrow.

Y'all have to keep us posted!
