Well, since it's only been 9 months sine the last time I posted here, I thought I'd give you guys an update. I was fired from my last job as a mechanical engineer because I showed up late a lot (Mainly because I hated the job so much that any minute away from my cubicle was a good minute). Anyway, I have a new job as an environmental engineer. I spend a lot of my time going to gas stations, taking groundwater samples, checking the monitoring equipment, and essentially making sure that none of the underground storage tanks are leaking gasoline into the groundwater. Because if they are, hellloooooooo carcinogens!

So the long and short of it is that I actually ENJOY my new job. I honestly can't understand how all those people at my old job were able to handle the complete boredom. I was living in the Office Space movie. One time someone came up to me and said "Working hard or hardly working?" I wanted to punch him in the face.

So.....how are things going over here? Not much going on, eh?

Hey, no one's making me impotent! LOL
pcbTIM Posted - 09/09/2006 : 10:54:13 PM
For the moment, I'm working in Monrovia. But the company said they would move me to their office in Aliso Viejo. So in a few months, I'll be driving past your place again.

Excuse....I hate to break up the reunion, but this thread is supposed to be about ME! Now let's get back to this rumor about me making people impotent....
PJK Posted - 09/09/2006 : 10:57:04 AM
Aw, sorry I missed you online! I'm not on much now that I am a working woman plus college student again. I'll be at a fundraiser for breast cancer tonight (my niece is raising $ for a three day walk she's doing in Oct) but I really hope we can connect at some point.

I almost messaged you the other day, just for the heck of it. But then, you weren't online, so that would have been tough.

dictate not thy tiny mandates to me, foolish one. i know well the ways of old, and the commandments that so govern them. no one knows the day or hour when the end of the thread is come.
Maraika Posted - 08/31/2006 : 12:09:52 PM
does it have to do with pulling on ones self? or the proper way to end a thread. the proper way to end threads is pulling posts except in the case of a post pusher

consider also what chords they are, and the order in which they appear. look, if i have to explain it, it's not funny.

Nice to see you posting again Patrick, although I knew all this from our frequent conversations.
tericee Posted - 08/27/2006 : 3:34:47 PM
Hi Patrick! I'm so glad you were able to find a job that you like. Sometimes it takes more than a few years after graduation to find job satisfaction like that. So congrats on doing it earlier than most!

Is there any room for promotion in your environmental engineering job? (BTW, I forget which engineering field your degree is in... it wasn't environmental was it?)
