I have recently begun a long process of getting my own radio show on the local public radio station in my town. Should I get through everything, get my programming approved, get licensed by the FCC, etc, then "The Prog Rock Radio Hour" will come into existence. One of the first songs I plan on playing: "Torch of Uncertainity." I don't know if it will be streamed yet, but if it gets off the ground, I'll post a link to it.

BTW, did you ever get a copy of TWO, sorry, my mind is a blurrr. If not send me your snail mail addy and I will get a copy off to you! I should send you a radio edit anyway, just in case.

Oh! I definitely have a copy of Two! My review is still on the CD Baby website right under yours! It was my third favorite album of 2005 only behind Parallel Universe (TR) and Soft Dangerous Shores (CW). I'll send you an email if you definitely want to get me a radio edit, that'd be fantastic! I owe you an email anyways, just been so busy with work!

My special edition copy of Exposure just fell into my lap in the office I work at! I ordered it on Wednesday, free shipping with Amazon, and it arrived today. Two days later! I love the packaging and the booklet has great pictures of Fripp with Bowie and Gabriel, et. al. I can't wait to listen to it tonight when I get home, I'll post my thoughts if I can. Who knows, I might have to rework that first potential show to include some Fripp!

OK, here is how big a nerd I am, here is my first playlist if I had a "Prog Rock Radio Hour".

1. King Crimson: "Neal and Jack and Me"
2. Rush: "La Villa Stangiato"
3. Genesis: "Watcher of the Skies"
4. Tool: "Vicarious"
5. Aphrodite's Child: "The Other People"
6. Coheed & Cambria: "In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3"
7: TR: "From This World"

I guess the biggest struggle with this kind of this is that the average Prog song hovers around the 7-8 minute mark so you can't play all that much in an hour.

Ha! I know, I could play a show with 2112 and Supper's Ready and be over 2/3rds finished.

I like that list Kev, except I'm not big on Coheed & Cambria. Which version of Watcher would you do? I'm partial to the one off of "Live" myself.

Here's a list I'm highly considering for the first show:

1. Genesis: "The Musical Box" (Live)
2. Tony Levin: "Pieces of the Sun"
3. Flaming Lips: "Suddenly Everything Has Changed"
4. Talking Heads: "The Great Curve"
5. King Crimson: "In the Court of the Crimson King" (The remastered version)
6. Tim Reynolds: "Hermetic Dew Drops"
7. Brian Eno: "Just Another Day"
8. Peter Gabriel: "Moribund the Burgermeister"

That's pretty much it, although I could switch around Moribund with Musical Box in the order, either would work for a great opener or closer.

I get paid on the 3rd of July, it will be my first CD ordered on Amazon. I'm still waiting to get Steve Hackett's "Tokyo Tapes." It's a double live album with members from King Crimson, Jethro Tull (I believe, etc. They do Genesis Songs, Hackett Stuff, and King Crimson songs. Their version of "I Talk to the Wind" is absolutely beautiful.

Wow, thanks Kevin, I've been busy lately and I didn't even realize that it was already out!

Glad to hear others are into RF and his amazing talents. Besides producing PG's 2nd album, he also plays on the 3rd (the awesome parts on "I Don't Remember" come to mind), but I believe it's produced by none other than Steve Lillywhite.

What are your favorite tracks on Exposure?
KevinLesko Posted - 06/28/2006 : 1:18:17 PM
Bust Off, the Exposure Re-Issue came out like two weeks ago. There are two version, one is a limited edition digipack that folds out like the original LP, that's the one I got. I had no idea the links to Peter Gabriel before I read the liner notes, heck I hadn't even realized that Robert Fripp produced Gabriel's 2nd album. Any ways, I agree on the Fripp album, good stuff.

Along with King Crimson, some Tony Levin would be cool.

DITTO AGAIN!

My $0.02: Play some KC WITH Tony Levin, including the ProjeKcts.

Also, it would be great to put in a plug for Robert Fripp's soon-to-be-reissued solo album from 1979 - "Exposure" (also including Tony Levin). I own the old release and it is very very PROG-ish.

Exposure also includes PG's "Here Comes the Flood" in a much better rendition than the one on his first release, in my opinion. It's much more simplistic, just PG's voice and piano along with Fripp's Frippertronics in the background.

It'll be available for download at www.dgmlive.com - a site you must check out if you haven't already, as it contains tons of live KC shows as well as RF's new soundscape shows for download.

Can't wait to hear the show.

BTW I just noticed again how much of a god Tony Levin is, wherever there's awesome music he shows up time and time again. Gotta be the most prolific bassist/stickist of all time.

Wow Arthen, I will be crossing my fingers for you! This is very exciting news! Along with King Crimson, some Tony Levin would be cool. I look forward to hearing some positive updates on this!
