Anyone remember this band or still listen to them?

I used to love them as a kid in the 80's and I'm actually getting to see them on May 12th in Philly....anyone else going?

Should be sweet.

I don't know the song "Fingertips" I guess.
rubylith Posted - 05/20/2006 : 09:31:35 AM
hahaha minimum wage!

Yea they sounded great...I was impressed with how much soul went into the performance when you know it was like the millionth time they were playing Birdhouse. Fingertips was nuts and the Sun Song was great. Yea it was fun, I'd love to check them out when they come around again. Brought back many memories as a kid.

Don't worry about your review. It got your point across. (I've never even *tried* to write one.) You obviously had a great time! I'm jealous.

Oh wait. I get to live in Germany and visit cool European cities all the time. (Trying to go to Lisbon for Memorial Day weekend, but not sure yet.)

But I'm still a little jealous.

That is a great song! I was just playing it for my office mates the other day. (http://www2.smumn.edu/DeptPages/~physics/astronomy/SunSong_TMBG.mp3) They also have one about mammals (http://diderot.uchicago.edu/~achou/tmbg/mp3/mammal.mp3) that's fun to listen to.

Totally! In fact, I'm subscribed to their podcast.

I got to shake their hands once when they played the 930 Club.

Tericee absolutely loves them, I am sure she will have alot to say on the subject. Just have to wait for her to stop by and see the thread.

oh yeah. these guys. i have no specific objection to them.
rubylith Posted - 04/19/2006 : 5:56:01 PM
yea but if anything they were the first....they were def nerds, two guys named john. Now I think they have a full band, but it is pretty cool how they started out.

dan p. Posted - 04/19/2006 : 4:40:07 PM
are they that band, or one of those bands, that tries to do the whole "quirky nerd humor" thing?
rubylith Posted - 04/19/2006 : 12:41:45 PM
haha yea the sun! I hear their live shows are pretty insane and they somehow pull off the album stuff live. I hope they play Birdhouse and some older stuff.
Arthen Posted - 04/19/2006 : 11:51:21 AM
Birdhouse!!!

Yeah, I used to listen to them a lot when I was in high school. They had a song all about the sun. I think it started "the sun is a mass of incandescant gas..."

Let us know how the show is, I've never heard anything about them as a live act.
