right on...yea what he posts are editorials anylyzing different articles and facts. WHen they post news they post it with a link to the source whether it be AP, Reuters, the Post and so on.

I find their editorials very well written, and slanted to the truth. They do not hide the fact that they do not support this government, nor the last one, nor the one before that. I do enjoy reading their articles, and I just wanted to get your input, thanks dan.

i could not stop laughing. this guy's upset because of the post's use of language to soften the fact that pretty much everyone booed cheney? his objection is is what, then? a lack of reporting the truth with language that communicates the truth and nothing else? the people at prisonplanet lack entirely the position to condemn other people's use of language. if he wants to be such a fuckin stickler about objectivity in journalism, then maybe he should go through the his own writing, and that of his co-workers at prison planet. honestly? i can't tell the difference between an editorial and news piece on prison planet because they're both so rife with this particular problem with language use. if i were certain this were intended to be a news piece and not an editorial, i could sit here and point out every such use of language, and there'd be almost nothing left of his article. i don't feel any particular inclination to, because most of it is obvious, and i'm not too sure it's not an editorial.

if paul joseph watson has an issue with language in journalism being used for anything other than communicating facts unblemished, he needs to quit his job and do something else, because he's just contributing to the problem, along with everyone he works with.

Obviously it isn't something that should waste a lot of your time, but it is true, he was booed horribly, and they promote it as "Cheers, boos" and then claim it is because of his bad pitch. I mean come on! The guy is the uttermost scumbag of the world.

Cheney was booed!

I have been to enough sporting events to know what booing sounds like and make no mistake Dick Cheney was booed big time at yesterday's Washington Nationals baseball game.

Go and watch the video. The booing is about 80% to 20% cheers, roughly matching Big Dick's own approval rating.

So why did Reuters carry the headline, 'Cheers, boos as Cheney opens baseball game'? Cheers is capitalized and placed before boos, suggesting there were more cheers than boos.

The Washington Post went one further.

The Post article is an outright lie and if an alternative blogger had made such an obvious faux pas he would have been bombarded with e mails for a week telling him he had been exposed as a charlatan. Yet don't hold your breath for the Post to issue a retraction. It is amazing that alternative journalists are held to an even higher standard in some cases than the 'trusted mainstream' and are widely tarred as crackpots if they step out of line once.

This is why alternative and dissenting viewpoints on modern day and historical events - the so-called 'conspiratorial view of history' - are significantly more substantial in the evidence they cite to back up the argument. They have to be, because the raging fury of the orthodox backlash is expected and prepared for. This is why alternative blogger articles are always sourced with hyperlinks at every turn, something you just don't see in 99% of mainstream pieces, even when it's an opinion piece and not straight news.

This idea that the dissenting view, because of its very form and nature, is immediately more credible than the orthodoxy, is discussed in a new book by Michael Parenti.

“Can we ever think that one subjective, imperfect opinion is better than another? Yes, as a rough rule of thumb, dissident opinions that are less reliant on the dominant paradigm are likely to be more vigorously tested and challenged. People approach the heterodox viewpoint with skepticism, assuming they ever get a chance to hear of it. Having been conditioned to the mainstream orthodoxy most of their lives, they are less inclined to place their trust automatically and unthinkingly in an unfamiliar analysis, one that not fit their background assumptions. They even will self-censor it by tuning out. If given the choice to consider a new perspective or mobilize old arguments against it, it is remarkable how quickly start reaching for the old arguments. All this makes dissent that much more difficult but that much more urgent.”

Cheney was booed! He was booed more than he was cheered. The boos drowned out the cheers. Reporting this fact is not breaking some holy commandment of balanced journalistic ethical code. Tell the truth. End of story.

Haha cracks me up. I noticed that reading through the MSM...especially the healdine "Cheers, boos"...totally stupid, but I think it is interesting to see even "left" news outlets such as the WP distort reality to the masses.

that shit kills me. it is division. people have different opinions and shit, but we don't need to make clubs or groups out of it. what are they? fuckin 12? you don't agree with someone, or vote for someone because they share the same ridiculous label. you don't give what they have to say any more or less credit. how about taking the idea for what it's worth? if you find yourself saying "oh this guys a conservative (or liberal) i'm not going to listen to what he says." the time has come to re-evaluate your life.

i find the fact that you attack clinton admirable. it indicates your opinions are governed by something other than political parties. and really, we need more of that sort of thinking. whether you're right or wrong about most things, there's something to be said for the process by which people come by their opinions. i tend to form opinions not on the issues, but on the prevailing opinions of said issues by people. the way i see it, if you can't form an opinion that has its base in reason, and don't conflict with any other opinion or philosophy you have, then how can you possibly do something about anything else? we tend to lose sight of that.

anyway. 5 points, i guess, for going after anyone regardless of political affiliation.

What about countries that are "free-er" than we are?
Canada, Netherlands, Sweden, Iceland, Denmark...

I hate these scum sucking aristocrats in our government, they come to seak kill and destroy, they have control over your bank account, your social security, your health, your military, and the federal reserve.

Our government carried out 9/11 and someday they will try and pull off another attack. That would be the only way to get the sheeple behind their motives. Just know when that A-bomb goes off in some federal building in the United STates, be assured that it wasn't some patsie, who also happens to be a CIA asset, who planned such a sophisticated attack from a cave.

I have a great life, I listen to awesome music and I have the best friends in the world. If I were to simply ignore these things, I won't have the things I love anymore. I will fight, I will inform, and I will defend this country.

just b/c they are in the spotlight moreso than maybe us doesnt mean they are going to go without their own problems and shortcomings. i know we should be able to hold political figures like this to higher standards, but they live in the same world as we do. it's not always easy. im not giving this guy a pass on what he has done(it's gross, it's wrong, and he should be punished) but to say that this is ultimatley our government is an invalid statement. maybe a more correct statement would read "This is your world".

It's just a topic for conversation, and be that as it may sometimes when you post things that make someone uncomfortable it makes them aware of it in a way that they were not before. Or they can just choose not to read it or participate in the topic at hand.
There are plenty of "fuzzy bunny" topics that one can choose. I don't jump in at every thing posted, but I appreciate the fact that this board has such diversity as far as what gets posted and discussed. That being said, welcome to the board Heather. Peace, Robin

that's actually not the government. that's just one person who works for the government. now, if it had been like 10 people who worked for the homeland security dept., then i'd be a little more concerned and amused. there are pervs and shitheads in every walk of life. i can say with a fair amount of confidence that there are pervs and shitheads where you work, wherever that is.

the homeland security dept is pretty much bullshit, anyway. here's what we don't need: a bigger government. if he loses his job, that's a good start.

but let's be fair. he was going to fuck that girl til her freckles fall off, otherwise the terrorists win.
