I know it's got no soul or thought behind it, but it's damn cool to watch someone shred an 8 string like that, especially with fanned frets. Anyways, has anyone heard of him? He obviously is kinda fast, but I was curious if his CD has anything worth buying for? |

Touche...I stand corrected. There were artificial harmonics, however no metal squeels. Rusty blows :) |

I almost spit my Kashi Strawberry Fields out all over the place when I read that! |

Posted - 03/31/2006 : 01:27:12 AM Mmm he definately does not suck. I don't think he's anything special either, tho...I just thought that was silly seeing someone go for that long that fast pretty cool.
And he does do a couple squeels; not enough imo. |

Posted - 03/30/2006 : 11:02:57 PM it's not all bad, though. his left hand technique is actually very good. notice how he keeps his fingers always very close to the fretboard, near where they need to be next. look at his pull offs. he has his fingers planted ahead of time. lots of players don't do that. they tend to no plant, and end up losing the second note by doing some sort of reverse hammer-on. with the exception of the lower register notes, all of his hammer-ons and pull-offs are clean and clear. |

Posted - 03/30/2006 : 10:55:09 PM yeah, wow. he's kind of like the guitarists from dragonforce except
1. he doesn't have a sense of melody 2. he doesn't have a sense of cadence 3. he's not as fast 4. you can't make out any low notes at all 5. he has two more strings and does less overall. 6. no tonal variation 7. no harmonic awareness 8. little rhythmic variation, and yet somehow 9. no cohesive rhythmic patterns 10. near constant sweep picking, lacks right hand technique 11. no metal squeals. if you're shredding, and you don't do metal squeals, you're not shredding right.
also, would you look at the fucking helmet behind him? it's got a +50 resist girls enchantment on it.
i have no objection to playing at this speed often. what i do have an objection to is playing like that often without any sense of musicality. leave badass shred solos to people who understand how to make music not boring.
