I am not the most computer savy guy by anymeans so if this question is dumb please just humor me....I don't understand why I can access Tim's FTP page at work without having to register a program like I do at my parents home. I am going to be buying a computer here soon and one of the things I want it to do is to be able to access FTP sites without needing cute ftp or whatever. Do some computers come with FTP programs already in them? Please shed some light on this issue for me my friends..

What browser are you using on your parents' computer? If it is an old version of IE or Netscape it might not have FTP access built in. Any new computer you buy would have the most recent version of IE on it so you should be fine.
