I'm glad everyone liked the photos. I'd recommend that everyone who doesn't have one, get a passport, and then save up for a trip to Europe. Make the Alps one of your stops.

You can actually stay over here pretty cheap if you're willing to stay in hostels and stuff. My friend Ian went to Krakow, Poland, and stayed in double room for 20 Euros (per person). Bathrooms were shared, but they were clean and nice.

All snow is yellow snow.
favaron Posted - 03/21/2006 : 10:29:27 PM
i remember that biff, remember when we just sat there in that snow for like an hour and ate it, and got pissed off when we moved too much cuz wherever we moved to, we couldn't eat that snow anymore cuz it was "contaminated"? that was a fuuuuuuuun time, that Y was scary when u lay upside down on it...
Biff the Pig Posted - 03/21/2006 : 10:19:15 PM
awesome pics, me and my friend actually climbed that mountain with the Y on it. We went on the spur of the moment, so we didn't have water either, and we got about 3/4 of the way up and we were so tired and dehydrated. Luckily there was a snow patch left (in May..) and we ate about half of it...and we aren't dead yet

Great pics! i'm jealous that you live in such a beautiful place. One must feel very poetic living in a place like that.

Yes, very Thoreau-esqe.

i don't understand. i don't like you because you make fun of videogames and neo-metal. i mean, the neo-metal thing is sort of a running joke for me now. let's admit, hrw comment was funny. if you don't like videogames and think they're brainwashing people, fine. all that means is you're making comments on videogames based on lakc of experience and knowledge of that medium. jack thompson thinks videogames brainwash people. is that sort of company you wish to keep? i hardly think so. yes, it's true. i don't think i like you. but that's not because you've made comments on videogames. it's your overall attitude. it's not even these theories themselves. it's your pious, high-handed distain for people you think you're better than. do you seriously think you're better than someone who shops at walmart, watches fux news, and eat at mcdonalds? you're not. also, you're grandios slogans about truth, brainwashing, slavery and freedom are grating as hell. i i get the feeling you think you're on some sort of mission about spreading the truth (as you see it) and they're you're some sort of hero, maybe a modern day moses, working against some real or imaginary "the man" to free the people from mental slavery. and if that's way off, tell me. i mean, that's just what i gather. the videogames are just one small facet in this annoying version of the arkenstone. sorry, i had to do some sort of fantasy reference.

your farm sounds fantastic, though.
tericee Posted - 03/21/2006 : 3:25:23 PM
That sounds like a great goal!

I have a friend who was able to get promoted from State Department IT support person to FSO IT Support, so now she gets to live in Hong Kong. Way cool!
Arthen Posted - 03/21/2006 : 2:24:00 PM
I don't actually ski, what happens is I will start to ski, but it turns into an all out roll and tumble down the slope. Quite humorous for the spectators around me. I can't imagine they have bunny slopes on the ALPS. Ha ha.

But as for getting out to Germany, one day I will! Maybe the State Department will hire me as a Foreign Service Officer and I'll get posted there.
tericee Posted - 03/21/2006 : 11:28:33 AM
I'm glad you like them. Feel free to come visit anytime. :) Especially if you want to ski!

Sehr schoen, Teri.
tericee Posted - 03/21/2006 : 11:24:57 AM
I have pictures of mountains, but they're not near my house. We have to drive at least a couple of hours to get to the mountains. But when we get there, we've got the ALPS, which is nice.

I don't think I can embed Yahoo! Photos into here, but here's the links to a few if you want to see them.

Very nice pictures, really beautiful.

As for Wal-Mart lots of people rely on Wal-Mart to buy the essentials of life, because it is cheaper. People may not like it, but low-income families depend on Wal Mart.
rubylith Posted - 03/21/2006 : 10:31:16 AM
umm I was replying to guitfiddler...so chill out.

I live in an 88 acre farm and it is very pretty. I have a small pond and loads of woods.

Dan you don't like me, I don't know if this stems from making fun of video games or neo-metal or what, but you obviously have it out for me.

I love the place I live, I just hate the people in charge.

I also hate watching more and more terrible things happen to this amazing place while joe six pack sits around watching sports all day, while his kids are on some medicine to make them happy. Sure there is nothing wrong with entertainment, but if you look at the past, like Rome, that was how it all came undone. Because no one was paying attention at things that mattered, everyone was fixed on the arena, while their government raped and destroyed the people and the land. America is almost identical to Rome in many different ways, you should check it out it is pretty interesting.

Things that matter like the mountains, the landscapes, our rights, music, creativity, and family.

Sure I could paint a rosey colored picture of the nice corporate takeover of every surrounding area where I live, but that would put me into a class of the willfully ignorant, and that I am not.

Please stop getting so upset at me, it isn't healthy.

Here is some news for you:

you rarely talk about anything else besides how america sucks. even if it as nothing to do at all with, say, pictures of mountains. "look at these mountains, aren't they pretty?" "OMG BUSH 9/11 NWO WALMART" and really, we fucking get it already. you don't like america, it's business, it's people, and whatever else. we've established this. too bad you're stuck here, huh. you're entitled to that, but do you really think it's necessary to shove it down our goddamn throats every goddamn minute. do you think you're doing us a service? you aren't. you're largely preaching to the choir, and to couple people who will not convert. and what's more, i think you know this. that's why you do it. so people will agree with you. you feel saying that here.

here this person is giving us beautiful pictures mountains near him. i live near some mountains myself, but they're not this nice. every now and again i'll go up to the adironacks and do some mountains. do you hike often?
rubylith Posted - 03/21/2006 : 09:18:43 AM
that sucks. Near me too there is a clusterfuck of corporations.

It's like, wouldn't it be nice if there we no more corporations? Yes but there would be millions of jobs lost. It is such a fine line and we will never agree on what is right because who is to say what right is?

Sure it would be a perfect world if people were able to own businesses anymore, and the streets were fillewd with mom and pop shops, but America is dying, it has been raped and ravaged and unless the majority of American's realize what is being done to them and this beautiful landscape, we are going to be surrounded by chemical waste and corporate pits of hell.

Too bad everyone cares about American Idol because it makes America Idle.

Where's the Wal Mart? In my town, you can't take a picture without a wal mart in it.
jsemon2 Posted - 03/18/2006 : 12:55:12 AM
found a pic of the part i ran into, and got too scared to cross at 2am.

jsemon2 Posted - 03/18/2006 : 12:48:51 AM
almost. one day me and my wife took a walk without anything and i got thristy. made it about 25% the way up. here are some pics of the way there.

LETS DO THIS

ARE YOU SURE?

Yeah, lets give it a try

Good thing we dont have to go threw that stuff!!!

Man look at the town!!!!

we didnt even make it to the Y.... :(

we didnt even make it to the "Y" which you can see in the first panoramic pic (it is on the far left mountain, about 40% the way up.

So that pic of the town was about 30% of the way up. I've tried climbing another mountain behind those mountain but ran into a rock slide, so it prevented up from going farther. but trust me, im climbing both before i live utah.
