Has anybody tried this thing?

I'm trying to figure out if this would be a good way to get U.S. TV over here in Germany. American Forces Network isn't very good so I haven't bothered to pay for it. I just watch DVDs (movies or series) when I want "TV"

Sony has something similar but it has a monthly fee. Ick.

If that works there's plenty of free software to turn a linux machine into a DVR so for that situation it'd be a great buy.

But in my humble opinion, besides 24 you're not missing anything from T.V. There's still a pretty big Quake2 community, what's better than video games?
