I'm currently 2 weeks sober!!! Not that I'm an alcoholic or anything, I just decided to stop drinking until the end of Oct. when I go to Vegas, and then I'll just be hammered for a week straight.

my stomach is made of steel. that's not to say i have rock hard abs, because i'm a huge slob, but rather that i can eat essentially anything and not get sick. i could eat a bucket of friend chicken, wash it down with a guiness, and go on some ridiculous roller coaster and not get sick. i know, because i've done exactly that.

I had dyspepsia (sp?) once. Unfortunately, that isn't a sickness where you need to drink a lot of Pepsi-a. I had too much acid in my stomach or something and it was just a constant pain. Had to go to urgent care and drink some disgusting medical cocktail. Luckily it was a one time deal.

Wow, sorry to hear about your stomach problems Kevin and Kenneth.

Bummer! I had some problems, doc put me on something called protonix and never said word one about diet. Therefore, I still drink my coffee in the morning (couldn't get started without it) and my Jack. I am not a fan of Smirnoff Vodka. Just doesn't do anything for me. My favorites are still good wine, JD and in the winter, Baileys Irish Cream. (although I have never turned down a good drink)

Yep, I got Aciphex, so I eat what I want also!

when i heard the intro, i had to search the board for silent sorrow in empty boats, because that is obviously what he is playing...glad to see arthen, however intoxicated, recognized this as well :)

I was definitely drunk and definitely listening to Genesis, and not TR! I had no idea he ever played that song! I must have had drunken clarivoyance! I also don't remember why I titled the thread "Mourning/Celebrating". Wow, what a strange and wondrous coincidence, or as Fluff might say Synchronocity!

I have a sack of fluid around my heart! YAY!

(before trying to figure out what was wrong and get treatment, I had such low blood pressure at times I could barely walk)

Just another sheet if paper in my already enormous 3 medical files. I am a walking trainwreck it's fun!

jeez, I hope this is only a temporary thing and I can go back to eating spicy foods, and drinking coffee. He suggested I try this diet for 2-4 weeks, and see how I feel.

I feel for you Lesko. I have the same problems. It got to were I couldn't eat without puking. I've had every test known to man run on my stomach; i.e. barium swallow, ultra sound, endoscopy, etc... I've had to cut back on certain things as well but I refuse to give up coffee or mello yello; both of which are awful for reflux. And I don't even need to tell you what happens if I eat anything spicy. It's a sickening display. If you've seen Ben Stiller in Along Came Polly when he's eating the spicy food; yeah, that's me. However, 40mg's of Nexium daily helps significantly.
