Posted - 05/28/2005 : 01:04:48 AM Hey y'all...
I was just wondering what everybody thought about Podcasting? I'm just starting to get into it. I figure it will help me practice for my radio career.
Anyway, I'll post more when I start getting "shows" up online. However, in the meanwhile, if you have any podcasting software (www.ipodder.org, if you don't), you can subscribe to my feed...

...and you'll be updated automatically. I'll be playing music (lots of TR, Greg Howard, DMB, and some other stuff), talking about current events (with my own view on things), and there'll be a few surprises and stuff too. |

Posted - 06/01/2005 : 12:47:43 PM ^ In theory, yes. However, I have no idea why the FCC/RIAA/etc have not jumped all over this like they did with internet radio (and subsequently college internet radio). I guess podcasting hasn't really reached a level where they would become concerned.
Then again, they get concerned when someone blows their nose in the pattern of a song... |

Posted - 06/01/2005 : 12:27:10 AM Hmm.... I'm still not sure I'm following this.
So if you're broadcasting the files, shouldn't you have to get licensed by the FCC or someone? I'm definately not knocking podcasting (hell it sounds cool to me), I'm just curious about the details... |

^ No. It's just an Mp3. Most podcasting retrievers take the file you downloaded and put it into iTunes or your Mp3 player of choice. In essence, if you put it into iTunes, then it goes on your iPod (if you have it set to load automatically). See? |

Posted - 05/31/2005 : 4:30:16 PM I can't just listen on my computer, I need to have an audio device? I had an iHP-120 it worked great, until I dropped it on the hardwood floor while it was playing and it broke...... |

Posted - 05/31/2005 : 08:12:58 AM So if you podcast music from albums, and I subscribe to your podcast, won't I be getting those songs for free? How is that legal? |

Posted - 05/30/2005 : 9:56:22 PM i don't think podcasting is a bad thing. it's one of the new ways to communicate music. i think communication is a pretty important part of music. |
