Posted - 11/15/2001 : 3:15:21 PM So, I go over to my friends place, and their finishing up a bowl of the good stuff. I take a couple puff's, and everything just kind of toned down. He starts packing another (mixing in some hash), so we smoke that and two more bowls just like it. Needless to say im blown (completely fucked), and I start to drive home.
I pop in some Timmy (5.7.01, track 1), and Im just taken in by the music. Then I start to day dream (or night dream, whatever) and I find myself thinking of the strangest shit. I start to imagine that Im on a different planet (that looks exactly like ours), everything is the same execpt for the people (or beings). Now I wasnt actually looking at people and seeing something else, I was just pretending. So I also think that if these beings find me, then its all over, they would kill me. So I played this game all of the way home, it was really cool.
But the coolest part was the next day when I found out what song I was listening to. Tim Reynolds "Stranger In A Strained Land".
Holy Shit is right, I was amazed. I know that a composers intent is to make you feel a certain way, or make you think about a certain thing. In classical repertoire we call this "Program Music", but I have never experienced this first hand, until now.
This takes everything to a new level.
Some might think this to be false or whatever. I assure you it is in fact completely genuine.
Thanks for Reading, Philip
