"Kraft's new Trolli "Road Kill" product line was recently brought to my attention by a member of the New Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals ("NJSPCA"). I visited the Trolli website - http://www.candystand.com/trolli - and what I found was completely unacceptable and irresponsible... Frankly, I was shocked, horrified and dismayed to see that Kraft is manufacturing and marketing gummi candy to children shaped like snakes, chickens and squirrels with tire tracks over the bodies to look like "road kill." The website even goes so far as to simulate a vehicle driving down a road and stopping short of a snake, chicken and squirrel with their eyes wide open in fear with tire tracks over their bodies."

-- Excerpt from NJSPCA President's letter to Kraft

the funniest thing, and i think this says a lot about guys, is that condoms can fit over your arm if you want them to. all the "sizes" are bogus. of course guys are going to by "large" or "x-large" or whatever. because they're never going to admit their dicks are anything but gigantic.
PJK Posted - 03/01/2005 : 12:20:20 PM
HAHAHAHA That is so funny Teri! About the sizes pictured, either there are some men with tiny dicks or some with huge ones! Don't know if I should say WOW or OUCH! LOL

I can ruin them even further for you if you like. In German, condoms are also known as gummis. (Since gummi means rubber in German.)

Example of the local anti-AIDS campaign:

Well, maybe this May when/if Tim comes back through CA we can have a Bay Area/Northern CA meet up.
Robin Posted - 02/28/2005 : 10:20:56 PM
Hey Arthen, too bad, I was hoping to meet you. Fluffy told me someone else from the board would be there. I had a nice, albeit short visit with him,he's the workin' man! Peace, Robin

Robin, unfortunately I didn't make it to SF to see those shows, I was stuck up here in Chico, couldn't get the time off work.

frankengummies.

O.K. I'm still laughing! I think it's hilarious, and also really not the thing we want to represent to kids. However,I'm of the mind that you teach your kids what's responsible and right, not the government or who all is in charge of this sort of thing. I think it's really funny, and I agree about Kraft. They are a huge corporation and I never eat anything made by them, or really anything that big corps have to do with. If you read labels even on cleaning supplies, they're all owned by each other. Andif you dig deeper, most of the ties they have are very disturbing. But hey I live in California and I wouldn't give my kid gummies either! (Unless they're all natural and organinc) LOL!
Off subject, did anyone catch the show with Keren Ann and A girl Called Eddy in S.F.? Really good,I liked them both.Check 'em out if they come to a town near you.Peace, Robin

When are we gonna see Severed Human Limbs gummies on the market?
dan p. Posted - 02/27/2005 : 8:06:50 PM
the problem is people who complain about this get lumped together with people who really believe in animal rights.
Evergreen Posted - 02/27/2005 : 07:05:36 AM
It looks like some people cared cause there was so much opposition from animal rights activists and the public they took it off the market yesterday. It's true though its just candy. I'd rather see animal rights activists putting all the efforts into actually helping LIVE animals who need it. But i guess there are many battles on all levels. I heard they were gearing up for the chocolate easter bunny campaign next.

My friends child had a pack of the roadkill gummies and i checked them out. It was really hard to tell they were dead animals with tire tracks over them. They just looked like blobs of gummies. He ripped the package open and was eating them so fast i think he was clueless as to what they actually represented. Candy is candy where a kiddie is concerned. Of course he may have been chowing them so fast because his mom mentioned something about selling them on ebay after she heard about them being pulled off the market.lol

IT'S FUCKING CANDY!!!!!! WHO THE HELL CARES??????
Silky The Pimp Posted - 02/26/2005 : 11:40:23 AM
I'd say the same people who actually find this to be offensive are probably the same ones who think Daffy Duck is offensive because he has a lisp.

I feel the same way. I'm like whoa, don't start ranting on this one evergreen, everyones eyes will glaze over when my posts surpass a million words and I'll get an ulcer. Fast Food Nation is one of my favorite books.

have you tried freshly grated parm cheese or asiago, simply awesome. But your right, kraft parm does taste good and much better than say the no name store brand of pre-grated parm cheese. Which usually smells so bad i can't bear to put it in my mouth.

I think that candy is hilarious. I wouldn't buy or eat it, though.

Kraft = Phillip Morris

Ya so they are definitely part of a corporation that does iresponsible things. Don't get me started on these assholes. They also have been giving money through kraft to quasi scientific researchers to tell people that second hand smoking is good for you and all sorts of BS. I don't think people should be putting that stuff in their mouth no matter what it's shaped like.
Evergreen Posted - 02/25/2005 : 11:12:34 AM
yes and i was talking about anything kraft makes not just the candy. All of their stuff is a bunch of manmade genetically engineered chemicals. And interestingly, I was just reading about their use of GEC's yesterday in a medline nutrition study recently conducted at Johns Hopkins. But we better not get into the nutrition debate or this could end up the longest thread here lol. and i just remembered about Fluffy and his kraft mac and cheese thing. Sorry to be the one to break the bad news to u Fluffy! But then again I've been trying to get him to eat better for yrs now . Fluffy, eat the "real kraft mac and cheese and NOT the kraft Easy mac and you'll be ok.
tericee Posted - 02/25/2005 : 10:37:47 AM
You're right about that. I don't think Gummi candy qualifies as food. It's just a bunch of chemicals thrown together to be squishy and sweet tasting.
Evergreen Posted - 02/25/2005 : 10:12:15 AM
anything by KRAFT is offensive. they are one of the biggest culprits of genetically modified foods (if u want to call their stuff food) in the world. AND lets corrupt our children some more with this ridiculous example of marketing. Boo!!
