I'm new here and just thought I'd say hi. I learned about Tim(my) through Dave Matthews Band (oh my God, no!!) I currently own Stream, Gossip of the Neurons and Astral Projection.
I think it is complete and utter blasphemy that Tim Reynolds is not in the Top 100 Guitarists according to Rolling Stone.. that whole magazine's a crock of shit anyway.

I would say that for the most part we don't hate DMB fans here at the board. It's just that a lot of DMB fans that show up posting here are only interested in the projects that Tim does with DMB. I remember before the 2003 D&T tour, they'd consistently join up and start new threads asking about when the next D&T tour is, or whether or not Tim was going to show up at a DMB concert.
We greatly appreciated the DMB fans that come over because of their respect and interest in Tim and his own catalogue of material. So, welcome aBOARD, hope you stick around for a while, it's always good to get some fresh blood in the board. And not in a way that would happen in Dan P's hometown. |

I think that common discussion on who's the best guitarist or top ### guitarist in the world is a crock of shit in itself. Yes, it's clear that someone like Jimmy Page is better than someone like Jack Johnson(no offense to him, I'm a fan of Jack), but it's all way too subjective and there's way too many styles and genres and things to take into consideration. Plus, we all know that the best guitarist in the world is probably some 60 year old guy sitting at home in his living room somewhere playing for his wife and family that no one has even heard of before.
Let's start a new magazine that recognizes all the old 60 year old decrepit amazing guitarists that no one's ever heard of! |

Pig, welcome to the boards. All 3 albums you named are great ones. Astral is my favorite electric Tim album.
I don't think Tim would want to be grouped in with the guitarists on RS's list. And yes, that magazine is a crock of shit.
The only DMB fans I flame are the drunk ones at shows that puke on my shoes.
Nah, these forums don't have a bad reputation. I just know that a lot of hardcore Tim fans are like, "DMB sucks, I hate when DMB fans post on these forums". Just stuff like that.
Oh, and of course I know what Don't Burn the Pig is a reference to..
