Posted - 01/10/2005 : 9:59:55 PM I have a Fishman soundhole pickup, with an adapter to plug the little guy into my computer, and as soon as I plugged the thing in and recorded something, I heard a hiss that at times seemed to overwhelm the recording...now I'm new to electronics of all sorts, I'm an acoustic purist, but I hear that soundhole pickups give the closest acoustic sound, but then, I guess it depends on the amp as well, although I don't have one (but I've played on the California Blonde, I think, and I loved it), anyways, I'm rambling. Could it be the soundcard? or what's going on?

Posted - 01/11/2005 : 11:53:24 AM my first guess would be the monitor is interfeiring. (sp?)
often i record on my comp and my tele will pick up more interfeirence then my gibson.
so... try turnin off the monitor, if the hiss stops... that might be it.
then work out a way to angle the pickup away from the monitor.
