If you don't want to read the article here's the jist(sp?):

A 18 year old was stabbed outside of his parents house while trying to keep some unwanteds out of his 16 year old brother's party by a 16 year old kid.

This happened in my neighbourhood.

2 years ago I had a party with some unwanteds who i tried to get out as well. There was a huge fight outside hte front of my house. They stole a TV, ps2, stereo and some money.

Boy did i ever get off easy.

i say fry him. i know it solves nothing, but for a brief shining moment, it probably satisfies the lust for revenge. and really, that's all you can hope for. the kid's never coming back. it's a wound that won't ever fully heal. take what you can.

Canada IS a nice place.
This is Toronto though.
Fucking Toronto.

Luckily this doesnt happen often though. One my my good friend's knew the guy that was stabbed. Apparently he was at my party and I would have met him too, though I don't remember.

I was afraid for a while that second degreee murder was somethign less harsh than that, I'm glad to hear the kid is in serious trouble like that.

seriously. if someone stole my gamecube, or a ps2 if i had one, i'd probably hunt him down like the animal he must be.

NO ONE STEALS A PS2

i'd like to ask the same question zach did. how does it go from "let me into the party" to stabbing? i'd have to assume that there was some progression of hostility there. it would seem that the kid would try to force his way in without, you know, any sort of lethal action. what happened? why wasn't he stopped before knifing became a viable option?

Michael Moore said they don't have gun violence; he never said anything about knives...

2nd degree murder is generally defined as intentional homicide without premeditation...that being said, my knowledge of Canadian law states automatic life without parole for at least 10 years, but that is, I think, with "special circumstance" generally meaning the accused killed a child. So, I don't think you'll have to worry about that guy coming around the neighborhood anytime soon!

I thought Canada was supposed to be a nice place?

a friend of mine was having a party when some friends of his sisters friends or sumthin like that showed up.

they started trouble, my friend jason went to stop the fighting. he got a beer bottle to the head and kicked on teh ground while unconcious.

they cought the dude that did it i think.

anayway, he was ok, nasty bruses and scars n shit though.

i dont see why this has to happen. what goes through the guys mind? so cameron wont let me in his party... hmmm maybe ill kill his brother, thatll warm him up. WHAT THA FUCK! he just wanted him to leave, nothing else, thats no reason to kill a man.

The kid has been charged with second degree murder, i dont exactly know what that means or what the typical punishment is.

This whole situation has me thinking about the appropriate punishment for murder.

Why would you stab somebody? Is that the way to be the ultimate tough guy?

All the time i see people get in fight while drinking but I've never seen it escalate to knives or guns or anything, and why should it??

This 18 year old wasnt planning on stabbing him, he was just trying to get he and his friends to leave, they werent welcome. Why raise thigns to this point? Why?

I think every human should have to study the social habits of chimps because I really think they have it down much better then humans. I mean everyones got their place in the world and it's harder for some to find then others, but it's sad when people let their egos go to the point of not being able to enjoy other people and for other people to try and have people not enjoy them.
