Posted - 11/08/2004 : 4:11:38 PM Is it normal to have an average of about an hour and a half of homework a week and be in these classes?
French 4 Honors Forensics Guitar Calc AB English 11 Honors U.S. History Honors Accounting
I thought this year would be hard, but so far, first quarter is over and only one B in calc, and I never do anything school related at home. NOT COMPLAINING OR ANYTHING, THOUGH. All the more time to play guitar and party... |

I'll have 365 pairs of socks and underwear too.

I play 5 string bass though and some of the shapes I throw down for some of the solo material my hands can't handle quite yet so I'm working on them.
Oh...I get it...nylons strings. Crazy guitarists. Sounds cool. |

Aristophanes is classic right? I really need to do more classical reading from the era of rome/greece. If I'm thinking of the same guy you are I remember seeing part of a play on TV by the guy and the only thing I can remember about it is how he was talking about how it sucks to live life at the will of the gods and such. It was a while ago though. |

Posted - 11/07/2004 : 5:40:06 PM I've been reading a bunch of old Aristophanes plays. If anyone wants a funny read, pick up a copy of The Clouds. It was a play that was mocking Socrates and a group called the Sophists.

Posted - 11/07/2004 : 5:25:30 PM Pumping Nylon? I'm not familiar, is that one of those hand strengthening doo-hickeys? If so, lose it. They do more harm than good, the only thing that will condition your arms, hands, and fingers the way they need to be conditioned is playing. There is no shortcut to good endurance. Strength is not a neccesity anyway, dexterity is. If you cannot pull a piece of paper out between your finger and the string, you are pushing down too hard... |

Posted - 11/07/2004 : 5:11:49 PM Good besides the unementionable things of this thread.
Enjoying some Roland Kirk as I eat. Going to get started on my practice routine that I'm trying to strictly abide by. It's a bitch though to do. Not the playing but I'm doing these exersices on bass from Pumping Nylon and they are just killing my left arm. Anyone else check that stuff out? It's intense. |
